A so called supplier on here who fitted my system just wont send me an invoice, fiited my van last october, I dont know if its pure laziness!
Keeps fobbing me off, now am getting worried cause it might f*** me up on my tax!
Is there anything I can do??

You should at the very least have a receipt for your money, haven't read the above link but I'd be thinking of talking to HMRC over this matter

That's what I'd do, with a description of why you haven't got the proper invoice. But really, when you paid, you should always get a receipt.

I do this quite a bit.
A couple of the lads who sub for me irregularly don't have computers. A couple of years ago, one guy did me an 'invoice' on a post it note. ::)roll
He's a good worker but his admin ain't Upto much. I just said to him what I was gonna do (print one off on his behalf) and he was fine.
OP-write out your own invoice, assume you paid via a tracable method (BACS, cheque etc...) if there's a record of money leaving your account and the correlating invoice-no matter what it looks like-you'll be fine.

As pole king , we do this for our self employed leafleters, which they sign and we keep, the only problem I can forsee is if you got audited the tax man may not accept you really had spent this money, at best they may then decide to scrutinise every transaction over the last few years ( what are the chances or being audited ? - small, but could still cause you grief )
And what if the item is faulty etc... Where is the proof for getting it fixed, replaced etc..

It's not through laziness, it's purely him looking to bump you.
I have met and been chatting to some great guys over the last year or so, on ere, done some work for Dave Morris early last year through this site who was a pleasure to work for, and I would be happy to help him out any time again.
Also done bits for others, let's just say I won't do it again, but hey ho. That's the difference between working for people who make there money and others who want there's and try to keep yours.

And yes there is ways and means of going about it,
You need to decide if you want to make your own invoice and inflate it substantially, or if you just want to be honest and want to do it right, go speak to your local inland rev, or your accountant - who will probably buy a £5 item off him get an invoice with his vat num on it, and have a field day with invoices ;D ;D

Not read link but as far as I knowif they are VAT registered it is a legal requirement to issue a receipt when requested . Ask again but tell them if you don't receive within 10 days you will go to HMRC

You're right paulben. If VaT has been charged, they have to give an invoice with their VaT number on it.

Says he will get me one end of this week if I dont get it then yeah told him there will be trouble!
