Forget the shammy virtually no window cleaners use them these days there no need to.

When i first done window cleaning 20 years ago we used shammy's and scrim.

Now i just use scrim.

Shammy is a thing of the past but it still looks good to see a window cleaner using one. The customers think it makes you look the part.
Its bulls**t I know but it works on the customers. Use it for detailing before you use the scrim and it makes the scrim llast a lot longer. Develop a good technique for flicking out the shammy and the customers think you are the business.

micro is def the way to go forward however!

i love scrim - shammy never had one except for the car!

but bought some micro about 6 weeks ago - this is great stuff, a bit weird at first but much quicker on the detailling!

micro is a high fibre weave cloth that is super absorbant and makes detailing dead easy

whereas scrim ...is well....scrim! its not a high fibre weave but it can be abused something rotten!

i dry up and do the nasties with scrim then 'polish' with micro

I'm going to try microfibre soon.

Some swear by it, others aren't so impressed.
Guess I'd better see what the fuss is about. :)

I use 2 types of microfibre.
One that looks like a towel and the other sort is a tighter weave. The towelling one isnt as good but it does sills and frames well.

I have never used a scrim so I couldnt compare.
