Earth the leisure battery to van (anything that is metal that is part of the van structure)
I took off one of the rachet strap points near the bulk head and used that hole to bolt an earth wire to the floor
Make sure you put the fuses as close to the battery as possible mate

If you are fitting a split charge I recommend this one:

I have used quite a few different ones, this is the best I've tried. It comes with an installation guide.

my advice to you is: do not connect your vsr to cigarette lighter as its protected most of the time by 5 amp fuse.
you should connect it directly to main battery as there can be anything over 30 amp going through wiring depending on your purchased relay.

Hi Michael,

Sorry, I missed this.

I fitted one of these the other day
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261437820261?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I was gutted to find out that the SCR I had was only a 15 amp unit (TEC2).

This is charging my battery at a much higher rate, mainly due to the much thicker supply cables. It peak can reach 20 amps, so your cigarette lighter cabling will not handle that.

if your send me your email address to 0777 3037591    I will email you an instruction manual on how to wire this one up.
