I have been using 8mm hose recently and found it to be nothing but a pain.
I like to use PureFreedom and had a reel of their 8mm hose which always seemed to have a mind of its own, so when any of the lads would be reeling in there would always seem to be a looping issue making it difficult to work with. So I then tried some Gardiners 8mm hose and the same thing happened, I was thinking maybe with warmer weather it might improve, which it hasn't.
Is 6mm the way to go to avoid this. If so why does it happen with 6mm and not 8mm.

Never had a problem with it. Always wanted to try 6mm, to see if its better. Not many places sell 6mm

6mm is lighter and easier to use ( less weight to drag ) but in general all hoses have their 'moments' I get mine from circuit hydraulics off ebay after a few days it's generally great

I use 6mm
It's the best
Your pole hose is 5mm so the 6mm to 5mm is a better transfer of pressure etc .
8mm to 5mm is a problem as it can cause back pressure to your pumps etc .
I bought a vehicle mounted reel , and 100 meters of 6mm from Wintecs recently .
Gardiners sell 6x more 6mm hose than 8mm hose .

I use 8mm red/ hot hose from circuit hydraulics, I can't compare it to anything other than the yellow stuff as this is only other one I have used. I find this red stuff sound, never have problems with coiling or reeling it in,
Maybe you need to stretch the hose out, 1 guy either end and nothing major just stretch it out.
If you or anyone wants stuff from circuit hydraulics I have Richards number, tbh i bought quite a few bits off him now, dubilee clips are spot on no cheap stuff, I think he supplies brodex with stuff also, so he's a handy guy to know.

Hello guys,
I just spoke with Richard from circuit hydraulics, he says he's more than happy to help any of us out and you can call or text him any time.

Last summer I was working til 10pm most nights, any bits I needed I would text him what it was and it would be in post to me, I needed another 100m hose, text him 10pm, and he had it to me for 12 noon next day at the job.
Absolutely top guy, even tho I have never met him, he's even sent spares and allowed me to return what I didn't need.
He's based in southport, I really should go clean his windows for free
