Hey all
So did a first clean on 02 Feb and left slip for payment. No payment after 4 weeks so called round but no-one in so left another slip. Still no payment so last night phoned her:
"Hi, it's your window cleaner I can't see any payment for the window clean - have you made a payment and I've missed it?"
"Oh, sorry we lost the slip you posted through"
"Well I posted another through last week did you get that one?"
"Oh did you, right, I can make a payment on the 15th"
"You mean the 15th of April?"
"Yes, that's when I get paid. And can you give me a ring the week before to remind me that I need to pay you?"
"So you must have just been paid this month then?"
"Yes, but we've had a few things to pay for"
"So let me get this straight. You didn't have enough money to pay me in February, and you haven't got enough money now you've been paid this month; so you want me to wait a total of 10 weeks before I get paid and you also want me to give you a reminder so you don't forget?"
"Yes"
"Well, how would you feel if you went into work and your boss told you that you would have to work but then wait 10 weeks before you got paid - and you would have to remind him to pay you?"
"I'd be really angry"
"And so am I right now. But I'll tell you what, I have plenty of very decent customers who value my service and don't mind paying me for it. Forget the money, I'll take it as a lesson and you can use the money you owe me to go and buy yourself some dignity!"
I hung up on her
Still wound up now but all it's cost is my time and I don't need people like that turning me into a bitter person - life's too short. ;D

p.s. Sometimes these new smart phones are a pain coz you can't slam the phone down any more - pressing 'end call' doesn't seem to vent the anger as much! ;D ;D

Yes, I have something similar ATM. This bloke works abroad a fair bit. I have done 4 cleans in total. The first clean I eventually caught up with him and he paid for the next clean too :). Then the last but one clean I left a slip asking to be paid by BACS as it was a pain keep trying to catch him home. No payment made. I cleaned last week and left a slip saying 2 cleans are owed and can he pay by BACS. Still no payment! I can't be doing with this poope.

send him a text reminder after 14 days.thats what i do with BACS customers.9 times out of 10 they pay within a day or two.
ALWAYS get their mobile number when they start paying by BACS.
