Just an obsivation but still a bit quite on the number of jobs but getting a good amount of rep clients I like to call the big hitters that are spending £500 plus so very happy with that, also less enquiries but the ones I book are defo spending a lot more
-
I get £500 jobs about once a year, how many are you getting of these big hitters?
But my average is always on a yearlyrise
-
Funny you should say that Rockerfella my job tickets are unusally high for this time of year.

I've had 7 over £500 this year but i do hard floors as well, Wish i could get 2 a week, workin on it ;)
-
2-3 a month here , they never seem to care about price.
-
I had a £1200 domestic Amtico strip and seal last week, but thats the biggest domestic ticket to date for me ! Dont think I will be able to afford a Titan 475 anyday soon ! Lo

i only dream to reach the heady heights of you Mr Ashmore
-
Need to put my prices up - I cant remember the last £500 domestic job I had!
-
I don't like the big hitter jobs unless the owners are out of the way or it's a commercial. I would rather do two £250.. domestics than one £500er, in a day, even if it meant taking longer and traveling a few miles in between. It was on the quiet side up to a couple of weeks ago but is picking up nicely now.
-
This week is a perfect start for me, every morning is booked each with around £300 of work, I could leave it at that and have a good week but more than likely I will book jobs into the afternoons so I could (if I wanted to work a full day) have some £500 days but not single £500 jobs.
-
680 office chairs to do over 4 days this week at 5.00 per chair. upholstery clean and good polish up of legs and sides :) :-\ plus a full carpet job at a retirement home just to add to normal weekly domestics. ramping up with coffee at the mo!

I don't get it Dave, why would you choose to pack up your gear and move to another job when someone wants a lot of cleaning done in one place?
-
I just get bored being in one place all day, but then my full days come in at around £250.., or put it this way, Ive had enough after a £250.. job these days. Not a mere boy like you you know! ;)
-
come on mate, your as fit as a racing snake
-
Have to laugh at this really. For everyone of you truthful lot at £500 per job there is a billion that would do it for a tenner and a warm meal. Never in the history of all trades do you find as many cranks than in the carpet cleaning 'game'. ::)roll
-
funny that, a billion that would do It for a tenner, didn't realize there were so many qualified carpet technicians in this country, and these billions, have they invested thousands in training, equipment, marketing over the years to get themselves with great clients that see as ONLY spending £500 plus to clean , protect and generally take care of their furnishings, that they have hard worked for and spent thousands of pounds on, as a really cost effective, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm no I didn't think so,

I agree with Pete here, what percentage of carpet cleaners net a grand a week after everything.
Top 2% maximum I would guess, that's not once, that's 52k a year net taxable profit.?
-
net taxable?
many here I would say, after around 5years in business, many also doing not only carpets
but one thing is net declared to the tax men and another is net in the pocket :)
if i can have many weeks in a year after 2 years in business with over 1k and more net then 50k must be a normal unusual thing.
in the only december you can make easy 2k a week.

had a neighbour, self employed irish man, who only build a plaster walls, old crapy van, and a big detached house, full of money. years of great work done, no advertising at all, just recomendations.
do not rate everyone on the same level with yourself as every one is different, different skills on runing the same business, diffetent ideas.
his 120 is over 200 a day, thats over 1000 a week, and thats 50k a year
what is his investition his expenses? does he get leasing for his 1k worth of equipment, does he drive a preaty new van?
-
there was wayne zabel's post between my two
????????
-
Hi Radek, yes we all know someone who goes to work in a rubbish van, and dresses in rags, and is worth a few quid..that probably describes many a self made millionaire.
I was just commenting on average earnings for a one man carpet cleaner, I suggested not many are doing a grand a week.
-
Jennifer, my first post is a reply to yours
the second one was a reply to waynes post which he removes I think
-
After 10 years cleaning carpets I find you can make a realy good living 7or8 months of the year the other 4 or 5 are pretty crap wouldn't want to rely on carpet cleaning only saying that its realy good money per hour compared to something like window cleaning.

Thats the problem it's just your guess just like Petes comment are just his opinion based of what his mate said ::)roll
I could give my opinion which would be the complete opposite .
but why is a grand a week a magical figure? what if someone is just clearing £500 it's still higher than I guess.......... (ohh dear..... now I've started guessing ) ............90% of the population get .
-
Well, thanks for clearing that up Mike....
-
Well you know what they say lads ?
There is only one SHAUN ASHMORE ! LOL
-
Both Pete and Jen are wind up merchants with nothing better to do. I wouldn't waste your time replying to them.
-
exactly Mike, I started this post just saying that I have had some great rep clients that are spending £500 plus, in fact some are spending a lot more than that, nobody said anything about a grand a week, in fact that would be a very poor week, but it was just an observation on how some clients spend more than others and I consider anything over £500 on a domestic, to be a big hitter.
-
It's not £k a week that you a looking for it's consistency you are after.

Also its not how much you turn over that's important ..... its the profit
-
Also its not how much you turn over that's important ..... its the profit
when you are a new in business it is important, as turnover is giving you some view of your future net income, as when you are a new you are still investing, checking what advertising is good for you, its a time when net income may be 50% of your turnover.
-
Any money is important when your starting up. It doesn't really give you a good idea of future profit as being established is a totally different ball game. I have been going 15 years now but my first few years of trading bear little resemblance to the last few.
