I'm happy with mine for the price, paid for it's self on the first job ;D

I uses to use one, and the problem I found was you had to continually empty it, and the sponge filter got blocked all the time.
The 3kw machine kevin sells is very good.

Problem with gutter vacs are that if the roof tiles over hang the gutter too much which is common you can't get the thing in or if the downspout is blocked you still got to get up there and if the down pipe is above a conservatory or extension it can mean getting on the roof. But they can be handy.

Dave , better than the other one you looked at ......
3000w and above is ideal
above 70 ltr capacity
You really need carbon fibre poles . more money but worth it ..
Keep going

Yeah, don't want to spend too much incase the demand isn't there?
-
Dave, there is a demand for gutter clearing all year round .
If you have a good customer database then target them first .
On going annual maintenance cleans there after

Is it not 'out of site out if mind' with these as you can't really see in the gutter (unless we show them)

Some people will have that mind set.... but property owners who care for their property will have it maintained .
Be optimistic not pessimistic

If the down pipe is blocked you just suck it out no need for ladders ever, and over hanging tiles are not a problem either you get a load of attachments to fit different gutters ive never had a problem yet.

There is times when you need a ladder.....I have the 3kw one from davep's posted website with carbon fibre poles and would not want to use anything heavier........also never used more than 4 poles so far and don't really want to.

Whats a 3kw ladder ? We have loads of poles round here but won't use them out of principle ;D

Never had to use ladder cant imagine why I would ever need one ? And Ive sucked some massive blockages out of down pipes no problem. I didnt think the watts had any thing to do with the power I thought it was about the inchs of water lift, watts just tells you how much electric you use.

If you never use a ladder how do you deal with plastic gutter creep ? Birds detritus on flat roofs ? Box gutters ? I have a set of customers that live in a row of houses that have a shallow pitch roofs surrounded by a parapet wall - when the outlets block it floods the houses so I have to get on the roof, walk round and clear all the birds nests and detritus. I do this twice a year.
Whilst I agree with the vacuum concept I think to offer a full service you still need to leave the ground having done the RAMS. If ladders are not for you then fine.
Out of interest what vac set up do you have ?
-
Gutter vacs serve a purpose but will not do every gutter you come across. We still use ladders to check all gutters and downpipes and rinse down afterwards .
One man on the ground with a vac does not cut it imo.......
