maf sensor? does it lose power n  suddenly find it again. Get a diagnostics on the van and see what errors show up. Easy fix if maf sensor

Been there - and what a nightmare!

1. Have you actually had the erg valve taken out and cleaned ?
2. If so did it run correctly for a short while ?
3. If no goto 4 if yes, but now the problem is back, you need to blank off the erg valve
4. Check boost sensor, remove pipes from sensor and join together if the van runs exactly the same change boost sensor - van will run like a rocket. If worse when bypassing look a maf
5. Maf sensor top of air box spray with carb cleaner, do NOT touch it - see if it improves performance

My betting is the erg valve, blank it off

Cheap yes, make a blanking plate from a coke can or buy one listed for the Laguna 2.0 dci

However, it's quite a barsteward to get to, buried down low at the front, air box, pipes inter cooler, all the front trim off, erg/throttle body off !

Had it striped down 4 times before finally sorting it out

Tom-01 posted this a while back.

The problem is that the fault codes from the ecu aren't easy to interpret. Most garage trouble shooters aren't very good at their job either to be honest. They are mechanics (parts fitters) not rocket scientists and the electronics are getting way too complicated.

Then you need to blank off the erg, mine was the same, I cleaned the erg before having the injectors done, after they were done it ran for 5 days before having no power and the glow plug lights and service lights came on.  After much despair I rechecked the erg valve, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years totally carb'd up.  Re cleaned and it run for 3 hours before returning to its no acceleration mode.
Stripped down, erg although not bad, again had some carbon/coke build up but also when clean and filled with carb cleaner it leaked slightly, so wear, or damage had resulted in the butterfly, blanking it off cured the light and most of the acceleration problems, I was getting them flick on off on hard acceleration but fully cured by testing and changing the boost sensor

Save yourself loads of heartache and blank the erg

I'm about to blank my EGR valve off (different van though). They are more trouble than they are worth & the engine is far better off inducting clean air than recycled crap from the exhaust port!

I'm having constant problems with my 08 2.0 vivaro ,Its been in limp mode so sluggish like yours and apparently the ABS unit needs rewiring and you can only go to a Vauxhall dealer to do this and now this morning it has just cut out and won't start so im off to buy a new one on lease !
