I'm looking to ditch the Aluminum omni poles and move to Carbon, is there much saving to be had buying poles and making my own set over purchasing a set from either Grippa or Gutter sucker?

Hi Rob,
Our poles are made by Gardiner so are very high quality and come with the quality assurance that all Gardiner / GrippaTank products come with. It's important to check the grade of carbon when purchasing to ensure strength and reliability with use in such a dirty application as gutter cleaning.

I have the grippa poles they are really good very happy :)

Cheers Grippa,
I'm awaiting a response from the link mentioned, also sent them a link to what the desired application is. Once I have a costing from them and a product spec I'll evaluate where my money goes ;)

thanks for the mention sb cleaning. No problem Rob.

Rob,
Check with carbonfibretubes, I am sure they are 50% carbon fibre 50% Fibre glass.

I have the grippa gutter poles , very very light and seem to take the abuse well .
Oy downside is they tend to spin when I use , especially the end tool .
That can be a real pain .

Need to clamp the end swanneck or tool.

Aha, there lies your problem.
I've got the clamped ones from Grippa, very good. Light and rigid. Clamp together, then end one just Clamp on your gutter sucker of choice for the moment 👍

Hi Robert,
Sorry to hear you are having this issue.
Could you please email us with the following:
How far do the poles lock in? I.e the male taper is 150mm long? How do you clean the poles?
It could be with wear and tear, some simple servicing steps that we can provide can make sure they lock back into place correctly.
Look forward to hearing from you,

Thanks for the feedback - glad your enjoying using the kit!

I clean them just using water then lube with the dry ptfe from gardiners .
not sure how far they lock in , will look at this later .
I think most of the movement is the plastic end tool , goes pretty much up to the bend and still not that tight .
I only do gutters as add ons so they have not had an excessive amount of use.

Hi Robert,
Sounds like your doing the right thing with cleaning (both the male and female tapers must be cleaned and wiped down).
Could you send the office some pictures to resolve this for you?

[/quote Why not just buy 1 carbon one and use it as your top pole, its what I did,it makes a massive difference.
2/3 alloys and carbon on top is fine for all domestic work.

Spoke to a supplier on here, who told me that wasn't a option, hmm.
I'm fine with the Ali on residential, just have a few management blocks 3+ storey and looking to rest my old bones ;)
Spoke to Carbon Fibre poles, looks like they'll be supplying me.
If anyone has a link for a new vac hose, would be appreciated.
