Apologies if I am repeating any previous threads.

A customer of mine has gone on holiday and wants a large two seater sofa cleaning. The problem is his dog occupies this sofa and the problem I face is body oil/grease and hair. Never had to clean one with such a degree of soiling.

I can't tell you whether it is natural or man made fibre but passed shrinkage and colourfast test. I normally tackle sofas with wool-x MS, maybe with orange-x to boost for oil but I'm not sure this will be enough. It if we're to be natural fibre would prochem fabric restorer be ok or this only for synthetics? I will acid rinse and then towel off.

I normally use fabric restorer for most upholstery in fact I've got one in the morning and I imagine it will be a combination of fabric restorer and cotton cleaner rinse, but if a dog uses the sofa for his bed it will probably stink so it might be prudent to take an enzyme with you as well

Stuart I do have some chemspec Haitian cotton cleaner which I have on the odd occasion mixed with shampoo to create a foam, never thought to use it as a rinse.

I use the Craftex cotton cleaner, its highly acidic about 3.6 and its cheap, I do use Chemspec Hiation cotton cleaner on premium jobs or where there is a chance of watermarks

If you have liquid HCC don't use as a rinse only the powdered version

ps. Chemspec don't do liquid anymore

Hi Jim

It's the powdered version I have. When practising with it in the past as a foam with shampoo I was leaving like white watermarks when dry so just stuck back on the shelf.
Probably time to get it back off the shelf and change my approach.
