Title: Anyone good at SEO?
Post by: Stoots on March 01, 2015, 11:41:10 am
I have my window cleaning site ranking top 4 on google for window cleaning "my city" keyword

what i want to do is add keywords for towns withing my city and get it to show up as a hidden page

Been looking at another site and they have the main page but then hidden pages not navigatable from the home page which is a copy of that page but with the extension

" /?services=town1"

Do i just create seperate pages and not link them to the home page, say 1 page per keyword..but i was under the impression that pages not linked to main page would be hard to rank in google or is it something to do with the site map?

i really want to know what the /? extension is for  ;D

Nat jones is your man.

Just be done with it and get your website done by him. Much less hassle.

how do you know this ?

if you have googled if before on your computer then google remembers what you have been looking for so this may give you a false idea of where you are page wise.

im convinced google remembers your computer ips address or whatever its called ... maybe in private browsing would help but easy way is to get a few friends to google "window cleaner anytown"

Nat prob knows a site that would check ranking properly ?

in many industries 8th position is best,.. many people ignore the top few results, suspicious that they're paid ads apparently!

I am one of those 'many' I've been searching sites for rope at a decent price and I've always avoided the top ranking sites. In the end I ordered from them as they were actually reasonably priced. :)

But cheap, but twice, mate.
I know from experience on websites.
Get one of Nats. You won't regret it.

And I think he offers direct debit payments now.
If so, it will almost certainly pay for itself each month.

That site checks google.com which my keyword ranks 17

But mine ranks number 5 on google uk (tried a few uk checkers)

Now i just need to get more keywords for my local towns

Its worth learing SEO imo as if you can design sites yourself and get them ranking they are cheap to host and you could build various sites for various services in future.

how long did it take to get on 1st page?

About 4-5 months

It was the first site i had made myself and 3 months later was only page 3-4, so i kinda forgot about it and thought ill pay for one doing, but then noticed it had creeped up, it hovers around top page 2 for gutter cleaning and conservatory cleaning keywords, so i might look to improve it.

I will probably get a nice one built sometime just for asthetics but doesnt hurt to have 2 sites on the go.
