The push fit inline flow control valve works well for some wfp users.
Here is Alex Gardiner's video

The tap can take a hammering in day to day use. Sometimes it fails when the hose pulls out of the valve and damages the 'teeth' that hold the hose in place.
This modification can help the tap last longer. Use a 10 inch stainless steel blade as the 'backing plate' and double up the duct tape on each end.
The duct tape needs replacing weekly. I do it at the same time as rinsing out the inside of the pole and just slice off the old duct tape with a stanley knife.

You could use o rings clamped round the hose where it mets the stem/barb.
Looks neater and will last a lot longer than tape.

The taps shouldn't fall apart like they do...I had one from.the cleaning warehouse last 9 months but they're to heavy.

Hi
I don't clean in wheathampstead and I only do a small amount of commercial work in Welwyn but many thanks for thinking of me.
I know exactly what you mean I have tried to pass a bit of work on to lads that I know aren't full and not so much as a thanks some jobs they didn't even go to look at so I've stopped doing it now.
Craig.

Same here, I passed work on to a mates brother in law. Not even a call to say thanks. Stuff him in future!
