Can any of you guys reccomended a decent little van for hwe machine and Chems and all the other bits needed for carpet cleaning? Never had a van before so don't know where to start. I want one with a side door.
Any suggestions would be great cheers

You could start out with a small van but often you find unless you are very well organized and you start adding extra services its not big enoungh
I would suggest a Larger Ford Transit but you could look at the smaller onces also
Obviously the bigger the Van the more fuel it will use so its a balancing act

I started with a little old Citroen C15 Champ which is about the same size as a Berlingo but had no side door. I upgraded to a Citroen Dispatch as soon as possible which as side doors both sides and more head room. If you are just going to stick to carpet cleaning then it will depend on what machine you start with but the more powerful portable extraction machines which can also be used as van mounted would really need a bigger van. If you are going to add other services like window cleaning, oven cleaning, hard floor cleaning you are gonna need a bigger van! :)

I have a medium wheelbase transit. Its too big for my needs now but the cost of change means it will stay for a while longer.
More space = more unnecessary junk looking like a jumble sale if your as untidy as I am.
I think a small vw transporter or a peugeot expert will be my next choice.

im running a peugeot expert, very very economical, twin side doors, comfy drive........ i fit in my airflex, 75foot of hose, two rotaries,
floormac, hoover, chems, large toolbox of sundries, wands etc etc etc two large sprayers, still a fair bit of room for more gumf!!!!

Cheers guys some good advice there I will take a look at those you mentioned tonight. My budget will determine the size of vAn I can get unless I get finance or loan etc..

A Berlingo or partner will be ok for a portable setup - it's what I have. You have to be organised though to get everything in ;)

My first van was a Bedford Rascal :o
Any way NV200 is a cracking van, I would encourage what ever you choose to make sure it has a side loading door..makes life so much eadier.

Renault Trafic highly recommend. Comfy and drives excellent with 115bhp 6 gear box.
It's about 3500£ for used 2007-2008 with sensible milage

I have the Peugeot Bipper, on lease, cracking van, 22,000 miles or 2 years service intervals. Very economical round town, side door, ply lined, Bluetooth, £170 a month including the vat. 3 years warranty.
