Hi,i have a 440 ro and it has 2 pre filters,my friends is one of the smaller types (450 gallons per day,but nowhere near)his has 3 pre filters! Can someone explain this discrepancy? and the advantages/dis?
Thanks.

is one a di resin filter perhaps ?

Their is no discrepancy depends were he bought and what they advised , I live in a soft water area and bought mine from Daqua after a quick chat with Doug .

Hi,it is just a filter!

He will have a sediment filter a carbon block filter and a carbon granular filter (GAC) and you will only
have the first two.
Pre filters have only one job and that's to protect the R.O. membrane, they don't make a difference to the TDS
so as long as your R.O. membranes are lasting then I wouldn't worry about it.

You Dont need 3 filters, those little ro systems were designed for a different application

3 is for drinking water systems.
