A online pressure gauge to test the pressure going r/o?
I'm struggling for water again, membranes etc all fine, resin changed.
Mines a 300gpd but my system is only making around 150gpd... So I assume my water pressure is crap! Mayby due the the garage been 10meters away from the house.

Inline***

Got mine from Vyair bud.
I think it was about £20. Its oil filled.
They were very helpful.

This will test your water pressure

The cold weather will slow production, get yourself a booster pump mate

Make sure you get correct fittinfs.
Works a treat.

Thats not inline, Daz.

I know, but thought it might be helpful in getting to know what the mains pressure is

I think it's the mains pressure I need to test? Because if it's low then I will have to buy a booster that fits before R/o won't i? Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
Correct - my mains supply was 15 psi - no inline gauge was was going to change that,
Boosted it to 80 psi and never needed to test it again

Wich pump did you use to boost it to 80psi?
I have a aquatec booster pump that goes after pre filters but I don't think it's getting enough supply of water and cuts off after a while.
-
not inline, but like you say if you just need to test it, pop in to your local toolstation

Here's my results... Coming straight from the tap is 30psi I think, but the garage is quite a distance away so could be less at ro?
How much psi is needed for ro to run how it should.
-
You say you're using a booster already?(aquatec 8800?)
Were is it in relation to the r.o?
-
Just after the pre filters, but I havnt used it for ages because it struggles to pump then cuts straight out.
Basically I have 30psi going into ro, then loads of pressure before membranes, then after membranes a tiny trickle of water (enough to make 150gpd in 24hours :|
I know people will think" that's your membranes need changing" but they have been changed twice in 4/5 months because I have been struggling to make water for a while and thought that was the problem. Clearly not because it doesn't improve much, and still wouldn't explain why the booster wouldn't work
-
Sounds like the pumps gone mate
Your flow would be the same if your r.o was 100metres away (baring leaks) but the pressure would decrease.
If your pump is on the r.o and you've still no pressure, the pumps deaded
(I get about 80psi out of my aquatec)

That wouldn't explain why I'm only making 150gpd now though? The pump isn't in the system atm lol
-
Because you've got bugger all pressure mate
The normal r.o's want at least 60-80psi to work efficiently (membranes need a high water pressure to for optimum production)
At 30psi, most of the water is going to your waste, and your product will just be a trickle...
So as per previous post, the fact you've got no pressure is the problem
-
Ooh I was told 30psi was decent.
I'm going to take my ro to my dads house(were I used to live and I made to much water with the same system) if it works better there then it's a pressure thing not the ro
