Good idea that.
What better way to motivate yourself by booking a holiday.
Might look at going to New York in March.
-
Tunisia for me in a few weeks. Can't wait.
Your right about the motivation. I'm determined to be bang up to date with work before I go.
Nothing worse than going on holiday already behind schedule.

Tbh motivation is one thing i don't really suffer with. I have so much going on at the mo with work/work ideas/ other work/ other ideas i am constantly buzzing. Put in hard work and you shall get rewarded! I really need to sort a holiday for this year though. Only managed a 3 day break last year but it was 5* cabin get away. Missus loved it!
Should be able to afford loads of holidays this year as Vision is making me so dam quick :P
-

Motivation was half of the reason I went for it today, fed with weather being the other half. I've been struggling to get back into it after the 2 weeks at xmas and the crap weather so thought I need a target to reach, plus my son finishes GCSE exams in Aug so want to give him a nice break aswell lying on a beach reminding him of how much spare time he'll have during college to get licking them windows :D

What's a holiday?
I haven't been abroad in nearly 5 years :'(
We have 2 kids, age 6 and 2, after the experience of taking the first on holiday when she was very young we decided to wait until there a bit older.
It's stressful enough going to butlins let alone another country...

Lanzagrotte is where I went for my last hol. Sat and watched some of the iron man, unbelievable how these guys keep going in that heat.
I was barely breathing after the gentle walk from the car park down the cliff to papagoya beach.
My eyes had a good workout though, hidden behind dark sunglasses watching all the naked chics walk by.

Or has blonde hair! Our eldest was a blondey when we went to Egypt - proper Gary glitter country!

5* London weekend, Lake District long weekend booked and I'm trying to blag the Mrs that we should have a fortnight in Spain in August. Usually go to Greece for 2 weeks but will give it a miss this year, too hot for a 6 month old.
Oh and I'm considering jumping on a Stag to Ibiza in September, might see you there Dazmond! ;D

Lol. I love it how the english say that about the arabic countries.
First time I went the locals were all over my Mrs for a couple of days. Didn't really bother me.
By day 3 she'd had enough though.
All you have to do is be friendly but firm. Soon as you say or do something to that affect, the locals are good as gold.
Israel was much worse that Egypt. They are very sexist there. Jordan was probably the best of those area of countries. Turkey is similar to Egypt.
I won't start on Saudi. ::)roll
Its their culture. They mean no offence-in general-from my experiences.

Spain for 4 days in March to watch my brother on his motorbike.
Portugal in Bannatynes villa for a week in June.
Zante with 13 lads July.
Last year I worked my balls off to pay the loan on my van off, and a few other things so went without a holiday, I wasn't going 2 years without one ;D

I got offered 250 camels for my missus last time we were in Egypt. Haha.
My experience is similar to pole king to be honest, if your firm and tell the locals where to go then they are good as gold, and very hospitable. Plus the fact im 6"2, 15 stone, with a shaved head probably helps. Lol.
In Egypt she was getting hassled but as soon as they realised she was married then they were absoloutely fine.it Can be a bit un nerving at first if you Havnt experienced it before though.
Tunisia is actually better then Egypt in that the street sellers and traders don't follow you around. They've got a line they can't cross, they can only try and get your attention to cons into their shop. They are terrified of the police over there too, and police keep everyone in check.
4* all inclusive resort anyway, so I doubt I'll be leaving the bar much this holiday. 😄

No mate.
I wanted to. But Tamsin refused.
She was worried a bit about getting shot or something as we had had quite a turbulent time in Jerusalem earlier.
Then we found out about the clothing thing-I don't know why, I assumed it was more like Dubai. As in if you were local or a follower of the faith you had to cover up, but not tourists. Wrong assumption.
Re-read my first post-it does look like I've said I've been. We only saw the border. ;)

If you want somewhere hot, arabic and totally non threatening go to Abu Dhabi? There's some beautiful places there. Yas Island is great (very commercialised but still lovely) or Al Ain in the south. Gorgeous oasis town.
I "did" hurghada years ago. Lovely.

We like Hurghada for a number of reasons.
A biggie though-the hotel we like, has a family room (separate bedroom for the children) and is the sort of place you don't have to leave if you don't want to.
And thomas cook are doing 2 weeks in May ultra all inclusive for £2,100.
Can't be beaten really.
We'll see. I'll look at Al Ain though, ta.

^ we stayed in a cracking hotel in Sharm a few years back with interconnecting room for the boys. It was called Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort - with Thomson. The hotel was almost brand new and had everything, all bells and whistles on the complex. Great entertainment too for the kids back then..might be worth a look. We looked at going back this year but it wasn't any cheaper that most other places which I found surprising considering the political climate over there right now.

We only saw the border. ;)
Got it. Trust me dubai is Arab light. Saudi is the real thing!! Evil place.
Hmmm, kinda got that feeling.
I love Egypt. Now I've seen what I want to around the rest of it, I'll just keep going back to Hurghada.
If you want somewhere hot, arabic and totally non threatening go to Abu Dhabi? There's some beautiful places there. Yas Island is great (very commercialised but still lovely) or Al Ain in the south. Gorgeous oasis town.
I "did" hurghada years ago. Lovely.
I'll have a look, thanks.
Ultra all inclusive mate??
Caribbean all inclusive is just what you'd expect. All inclusive.
Egypt and to a greater degree the European resorts, all inclusive is much more restricted.
It could be AI in one bar/restaurant on the site. Or limited times. Or restricted drinks, food or snacks.
For instance, we went to menorca last year, AI. It was one style of ice cream but not ice lollies. (My youngest is severely dairy intolerant so the lollies were the only option)
One red wine, one White, one rose. One brand of beer. One cocktail per day. ::)roll
Ultra AI is what you'd expect it to be. Everything included. Ice cream, beer, spirits, cocktails etc at any time of day at any of the bars/restaurants.
It's not the money but more the convenience.
And the deal for £2100-we'd spend more than that staying at home!
Mrs is still undecided though.
Cheers Fin. I'll look at that too. My eldest is 4 now so the kids clubs start to make sense.

He'd have to deal with the sister in law who is house sitting, and that wouldn't be easy!
