Title: website hosting
Post by: Plankton on February 16, 2015, 09:06:40 pm
Having on going problems with my website. I've recently made changes to make it look more appealing and now can't change anything on it. If I log in to edit there is nothing there to edit and there's some content missing from the viewable site which was previously showing only half the content.
I'm considering changing the host as it's coming up for renewal although this could be a pain in ones arse.

Has anyone had similar problems?

What hosting sites are you using and what is it costing?

This started 3 weeks ago so I think it's quite poor service.

Never heard of them. That's not to say they are bad.

I can only go on what i know and that's not a lot ;)

Vidahost.com have always been quick to reply to emails and even sorted an iphone issue out for me :)

try www.tsohost.com

They're UK based, super fast, own their own data centres, do daily offsite backups so your data is completely safe,... and they're reasonably priced too.  ;)

Had an email from them today and they have resolved it again. I've yet to check but they said my computer probably saved a blank page and it's nothing to do with them. I have to check my flash player is up to date. Fecking computers are never done updating. It's funny how the three computers I used to access the site all had the same problem!
Maybe I'm wrong but three weeks down the line and that's the excuse (reason).

Vista print are a pain for up selling. I'd rather use UK based for a couple of quid extra.

Thanks Nat, I have found they are very good 24/7 support and a good system to work with. And I didn't need to buy a new computer after all. Namesco was just crap service took forever to get back to you and when they did they blamed my computers. The only way for me to resolve the issue was to delete the pages and start afresh which is too much hassle and I'm glad I changed to TSO. I've not finished the site yet but what a difference to work with.

Thanks again Alan
