Title: placing booster pump on 300 RO

Where is it  best to place a booster pump,
i had one connected up to the main water supply from tap,     then hosepipe going into RO system.

looking on youtube ive noticed most have placed it so it is going into Membrane connection.  coming from last RO vessel  using RO tubing.
i use a hosepipe tubing going into my RO  from main tap.

what is the preffered way to install a Booster Pump

any pics of set-up would be helpfull.

i dont know my water pressure as im awaiting on a pressure gauge from vyair.

Collins water products sell booster pump,    for 2-450 RO systems @ £49.99.     he says this is suitiable to speed my water production from 8-10 hours to get 200 litres just from tap pressure alone. this is what it takes me at the moment .
need to speed it up.
ill try a booster pump before i think of getting a 4040 setup,   money a wee bit low atm

I've tried the one from john hewitt & collins water products...whilst doing the job and working 'ok', neither have been as good as this: http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/24v-aquatec-reverse-osmosis-booster-pump-power-supply-p-274.html?page=2

(Collins are decent and i'd recommend to anyone in regards to membranes & prefilters though)

I have it on the pipe in-between my last prefilter & first membrane

so                       RO tubing from last vessel  going into pump,  then

RO tubing going from pump into  first membrane.

i used to have one going from water tap  going  straight   into RO from a 1/2 inch hose.

what is the timescale difference getting pure water     ie. litre s     per hour .

as i say it takes me 8-10 hours without a booster pump to fill 210 litre butt up.

adding a booster pump should speed things up a bit.

how long can this booster pump be left on for .    purefreedom. pump

The John Hewett booster pump is a good quality pump its operates  at 24 v I have used mine since I have been window cleaning which is going for six years with out overheating which is a problem some have with booster pumps. When you replace your membranes with the Gaps water 150 gal membranes upgrade and this booster pump you will be impressed with the combo its very good.

The aquatec 8800 (purefreedom)is made for continous use, so you can just leave it on

I spoke to john about his booster pump, and it was recommended to use with a timer due to over heating, you shouldn't get that problem with the purefreedom

200litres probably takes around 4-4.5 hours on a 450gpd (might be less to be honest, i dont pay much attention anymore)

i rang company that sells them to purefreedom,      he said thats a good price from them becktec in surrey

Hi yes you defo want the Aquatec 8800 some place it after the first pre filter and some before the pre filter, I've got mine before the pre filter so it's mains booster prefilters membranes Di bottle dropping pure water in static tank. The booster pump will also make your resin a lot longer hope this helps

Has the booster got push fit fittings?

You shouldnt need the extra hose unless you need to mount the pump away from the r.o...
Just cut the hose inbetween the last prefilter and first membrane and insert booster pump (make sure you put the inlet/outlet the right way around)

well took me 3 hours 15 minutes   to fill  a 220 litre water butt,      normally takes around 8-10 hours to fill,
big result.
may look into getting a 450 RO unit,      that should be even more quicker
