Title: CDP8800 Booster pump problem
Post by: Barryy on February 11, 2015, 05:46:44 pm
Hi guys, my CDP8800 Booster pump has a problem. It still runs when plugged in, but is not boosting the water pressure at all. Is there perhaps a broken part inside it that I could replace, or is it time to buy a new pump? Thanks.

Sounds like the pressure switch is dead, they can be replaced cheap an easy.

If the pump is running and NOT boosting pressure then its not your pressure switch. The pressure switch activates the pump, which you say is actually running? I'm thinking diaphram or valves in the pump head, thats if you can get them.

If it's any help we had a problem with a delivery pump doing the same thing.  The pumps are very similar in design and function.  We took the head off the pump, washed everything and put it back together and it worked.

You have to be very careful to note where all the bits go, and as you lift the head there are tiny springs that pop out - they have to go back in the right place.

Not a job for the feint-hearted ;D
