Or a 2 in one job. Although it looks more like advertising poop from a shopping channel to me if I'm honest.

I don't advertise mattress cleaning. However there does seem to be a big market for it. Over the last year I think I've done approx 30 or forty domestics and several up market hotels where there were between 10 to 30 rooms to do @ £30 per single and £50 per double mattress.

Yes ,iv seen that .  It looks good alright .

I think a more convincing method is the Australian made one ..

http://www.uaeblogging.com/win-our-first-green-giveaway/

In that they state that the light alone doesn't normally penetrate enough to kill but contained in the plastic cover the UV lamp produces ozone which falls to the mattress and helps sterilization .

I think the manufacturers site is getting updated so im struggling to contact them but there is a guy here in Ireland advertizing he uses that system so they must ship it out .
If the customer dosnt care or know any better then im sure a handheld would do , its not like the mattress will lab tested after i suppose .

Kirby vacuum cleaner salesmen used to use a very effective demonstration on mattress cleaning as part of their sales pitch, they set up the kirby with its handheld  grip and inspection chamber then vacuumed the bed. a single, full length pass filled the chamber.2 inches thick, they then held it upto the customers nose and said......"have a good sniff of that" they of course refused, they then said " every night you are breathing that in"

If I cleaned mattress I would use a kirby to post vac and leave the dust for the clients to see.

Funny you should say that Mike, while googling some keywords on mattress sanitizing machines ,i found a forum .Guy said he paid 5 grand for a mattress package that was nothing more than a kirby vac with a blue light on it.

One thing I've noticed about these machines is most claim to get rid of bed bugs. Maybe they do on the mattress but bed bugs can be almost anywhere in a room. Sockets, cracks in skirting boards etc. These things may be ok just advertising mattress sanitising but I think their stretching the truth a bit with some of their advertising

No , i will do a bit more looking soon , i sent a message to the Australian guys but no reply yet , think they are redoing the site . Il let u know if i come up with anything .

Yes , the link u posted is the guy with the Australian system .
As Dan said i think the whole thing is stretching the truth as far a proper sanitizing ,
but the woman i spoke with was a professional and she said she looked it up , so if they research it and still believe in it  and the money to spend on such things then they deserve it .  :)

I have been researching it a bit, seems to be used alot in the health service etc.Seems as a sanitizer its workable.Hygienitech seems like a franchise con.Kirby machine with a uv light, but i like the idea.I can see it making money if the right tool found.

That big Australian thing is the most impressive iv seen , and the most impressive to sell to people , he is getting into places like Ashford with it .  No way i would turn up at someones house with a plastic Argos looking handheld  .
I found these also ..  must be more out there .
