Title: Halo Effect!
Post by: Phil J on February 10, 2015, 09:06:31 pm
Hi guys,
I clean a fairly large house with wooden 4 pane sash windows ( WFP ) anyway customer comes out today and says she is getting a line appearing on the glass next to the cross members when the water has dried. Sure enough on closer inspection a small halo around 1/8 inch running parallel to the wooden frame. If you rub like crazy it disappears. Any ideas? Don't fancy major elbow grease on 16 windows!
Thanks, Phil  ???

Sounds to be like contamination from the astragals (cross members). Either from the seal (modern unit) or broken putty/oxidised paint (older unit). A huge proportion of my work are these type windows. You need to scrub extra on the cross members & also rinse them more- directing the jets just above & just below the cross members to blast any dirt out that's stuck in there.
