Title: diy pump box
Post by: Richy L on February 08, 2015, 04:41:12 pm
I build my own pump boxes, but have found keeping the water out of the boxes a nightmare. Water works its way in and damages the components inside.

I'm trying to find fittings that will connect my pump to outside of the box without any water getting into the box(rain water, splashes - not the piped water). It need to be completely sealed.

My set up at the moment is a hose jubilee clipped to the pump outlet/inlet then a barbed connector to a scew end that gos out of the box.
Any ideas??

I'm pumping chemicals through some of my pump boxes so a drainage hole will not work out for me.
I want it completely water tight.

What about trying some cable glands, they should seal around the inlet and outlet hose as it goes in and comes out of the box...as long as the hose diameter will go through the gland, the pic below has 12mm hose running through
