Title: Yell.grr - useless!
Post by: cornwallwindows on February 06, 2015, 01:12:43 pm
Here's an email I've just sent it yell.com or Hibu. Was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem with them?

Hi, again!!
I am really very unhappy with the service that you provide. I sent you a message regarding changing my details on the site and still, after a month and numerous attempts to change my details they still haven't been changed and haven't heard anything.
Also! Today while looking at my advert I have noticed that ALL of my adverts have a Newquay area code. I was informed, after a previous issue that this would be rectified and my good nature I thought it would have been change and neglected to check. I'm paying a lot of money for this service and again I stress that I will be seeking compensation for potential loss of customers. Being a new business any potential loss of trade has a massive impact on the way I build or plan to build my business.
Please contact me.
I have copies of all the correspondence with you so if needed there is proof that you are not providing the service that I expect.

Personally, I did pick up enough work from Yell to cover the ad cost and a bit more besides.  A few years on I am still doing one of those jobs - it's worth over £500 a year to me.  However, it got me inundated with cold callers trying to sell me things - all of which were totally irrelevant for a sole trader.  I even went through a time when I stopped having my mobile on divert from the landline.  Not only was it time consuming receiving such calls when trying to work, it was costing me money for the calls too (my landline to my mobile).
Overall, I have made a profit on Yelladvertising.  I stopped it the day they phoned me yet again about renewing.  They find it hard to take no for an answer so after a number of calls, I just told him to go away (paraphrased).  That was the last I heard.
