Here's another chemical that says it cleans and protects
http://www.dirtbusterscarpetcleaningsupplies.co.uk/items/carpet-cleaning-extraction-agents/54/0/99/dirtbusters-clean-and-protect-5l.php
All for £10 for 5lts, it dilutes at 100-1 so when you do the maths cost wise it is slightly cheaper than say F90 liquid but you could say you are protecting the carpet as well as cleaning it.

Just noticed the admin have put a link to thier site so hopefully they will be looking in to give more details on this product

Sceptical on this one. Possibly need to test for myself and having never used it so lack of experience I won't say anything negative however is this the Golden one chemical does all? If it is we're happy as pigs in💩...
I look forward to more info

Wouldn't any protection be extracted, O.K might be a small residual amount left but enough to protect carpet in the same way as other protectors sprayed post extraction?
Sounds more like a marketing gimmick to me

CFR from Amtech also do a cleaning agent that leaves a residual protector behind and they are a very reputable company, I don't think they would say it if it was'nt provable.
I think this sort of detergent could be quite a useful marketing tool, every job you could sell as a clean and protect at a higher price.
I've just ordered some detergent that leaves a residual antibacterial coating which in the initial clean will kill 99.9% of all germs and then keeps working after the carpet is dry. I thought it would be a good seller to nursing homes and children's nurseries. I can just keep it at home ready to use when needed. Also it comes with a really professional leaflet that you can download and give to the customer when you quote.

Any more info on that anti-bac product Mike? Is it from the same company?
I believ solutions fusion8 is meant to leave a polymer behind to give some protection also but i havent tested its properties yet
