Title: Pure Freedom (Blue Filters) Leaking!! Advice needed
Post by: Dan The Lad on February 01, 2015, 07:36:55 pm
Have a 350L pure freedom, had it about 2 weeks was bough with van. Havent had any issues before today, the blue filters seem to be leaking intermittently and is now stopping the flow of water into the tank. Does anybody know why my filters are leaking? Water is coming from the top of them, everything seems to be in check, no loose connections etc.

I take it Dan that you are talking about the pre filters if so have you checked that the rubber seals (rings)
are still in the pots and that they are O.K.
Open them up again and check to see if the filters are sitting O.K.
Sometimes you just need to tighten them a bit more.
Check that the rings in the pre filters as well as sometimes these fall out.
If all this fails then try another set of pre filters as a few years back I bought a few sets that where just too long
and I couldn't get the vessels to stop leaking.

Hi,

The pre-filters yeah, on top of the 2 pre filters theres a red button or appears to be a button, do you know what they are for? I presumed they were to bleed to the pre filters? Thats where the leak appears to be coming from

The button on the top is a pressure release, if you have pressed them they don't always return to seal, esp if they are screwed into place on the blue plate, I found the holes were not quite in line, if you unscrew the filter slightly from the metal plate so the filter can move slightly the button will pop up and seal. Re tighten the filter to the plate ( that's what happened on my PF system )

+1

And the filters tighten up anti-clockwise.
