Title: Recommend me some PL insurance
Post by: Dave Willis on January 30, 2015, 04:57:40 pm
I'm with Mastercover - AXA at the moment with 2ml cover. Cover for glass being worked on and cover for guttering installation (that's how they got around cleaning guttering cover).

However reading the small print the excess is £500 anyway and they only insure up to 10m high from surface level.

Basically it's pretty crap for £100.

Gleaming Insurance are who we use.
The Rhinoman has been with them for about 4 years and we cannot fault them.
The Meerkat put a cherry picker through the wall of a building - they paid out quickly and did not increase premiums.
We have 10 million pound public and unlimted for employees
Just tell them Rhinoman sent you - and THEY WILL GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT! but YOU MUST SAY RHINOMAN!

Hmmm, Gleaming is double the price for slightly better cover. I'll think about it.
I did a conservatory roof clean a couple of months back - customer reckoned the roof collapsed a few days later  :o
Obviously wasn't my fault but they could have tried to claim. Scary.

They all seem to load the excess up to £250 minimum which means for most residential work you'll never use it for glass being worked on.

That's what I thought so I wasn't persuaded by it. However I went to Gleaming because in the limited amount of time I had, I couldn't find a better price for empoyee liability & pl and quite a few on the comparison site wouldn't quote.
