There was a thread on this a few weeks ago, if you use the search facility then you should find it, i think the outcome on that occasion was that white spirit removed it, before using anything on carpets always test them in an inconspicuous area first to ensure that they will not remove colour etc, Andy

Hi Rebeeca,

It was me that wrote about removing Sudocrem with white spirit.

If you have no equipment you need to follow this procedure.

1. Get someone to look after baby

2. Put on your marigolds , get an old towell and a bottle of white spirit.

3.Work white spirit into the sudocrem gently

4.Wash area with propriety shampoo to remove sudocrem and white spirit.

5.allow to dry

6.Open a bottle of wine and relax.

Cheers

Doug

oh! dear, not sudocrem.  oops!

i had the same problem luckily in my own home a few years back, the whole tub and twin boys going mad on a dark green nylon multi loop pile, yikes,

ok, first off i did before doing carpet course or any machines is:

i phoned sudocrem    pmsl.  but i did.

remove kids.( a must) time consuming job now.

make up a hot bowl water with oxi powder.

lather the bubbles in gently,

leave for a few mins,

pat and blot dry,

repeat, all above a few times.

brush carpet when dry,

if slight light shading still appears,  get the guys in to steam it , the oxi breaks down most of the alcohol which is in it, but it is heavy in wax, so best treating carpet as the same as you treat wax,

suppose you could freeze it off, the warmer it is the more it spreads.

anyway no doubt some one will jump down my throat but i managed to get it off my way.

good luck

lynn
