off work today crappy day in south shields, heavy rain and looks like snow
-
I did a block of flats this morning then the winds came - driving rain and full wheely bins rolling across the road. Just got in and the sun's come out ::)roll
-
It's been pretty dire here so far in Brighton
Driving rain and high winds. It's been a boring day so far.
-
We packed up and went home at 12...its too windy for poling the windows come up crap too in the wind :(
-
Packed it in after an hour. Cant be arsed this time of year. Thought Id spend the day sending hassling Nathan by e-mail about the websites he's doing ;D
-
how does the wind effect windows on using waterfed ,is it cause of grit in the air blowing about
-
did a full day, rain hail wind ::)roll
should of stayed home
-
snow showers & freezing windy from about 9.30 this morning. packed in at 12.30.
-
Forecast a lot worse coming
-
Looked out the window this morn raining....looked out again this afternoon
sunny but a bit breezy..then settled down to some munching of digestives interspersed
with bouts of snoozing :)
-
i did 10am-230pm so 4 hours "on the glass".30 mins for lunch.
horrible day.strong cold wind and heavy hail/sleet showers! ::)roll
im glad to be home!warm and dry! ;D
luckily for me most of my customers were OUT!! ;)
-
van poorly in workshop so no work for me today :(
-
I had written the day off but things looked up later. I went out about 1.30/2.00ish. It doesn't sound much but it was worth earning. When I know it's going to be a very short day, I can up the pace a lot.
-
Full day on commercial, 6am - 4pm, same again tomorrow.

Were you on the way to the garage when I passed you near Northop Hall at dinner time?
-
Did a first clean for one of my existing customers (this was his house, I clean his shop windows); nice big detached house. Was sunny when I started, but then the wind got up, bringing some hail and snow with it.
While doing it, the lady next door asked me for a price (same sized house), and asked if I could come back next week, then monthly thereafter. She had a friend with her who lives nearby, so will be getting a call from her soon as well.
Got nothing else done today, as the weather went from bad to worse, but I'm happy enough.

started at half one and done by 4 in leicester today, managed to make it worthwhile going out for a short time, good job really was bitter cold
-
Started at 11 very windy but worked until 4pm no problem. Best month of the year so far! ;D
-
8-3 with only a little rain and beautiful blue skies in the afternoon, perfect.
-
I just dont understand why window cleaners stop work in the rain
-
Well its been thundering and lightning with snow storm for 1 hour now. Doesn't happen every day does it. Forget windows lol
-
I've become a bit wary working in the rain as customers do not like it. they do think it's a waste of time and money!! you can get away with it as long as they are showers but if you keep cleaning windows in really bad weather you will loose customers ( whether you like it or not!!). would I be happy seeing a window cleaner doing my windows in a bad, windy and rainy day ? definitely not!!

If i had a window cleaner, I wouldn't want them cleaned in the rain.
Similar with direct debits. I push them to customers as the best thing ever-but i don't like them for myself.
What works best as a service provider isn't necessarily the same for the customer.
(i do clean in the rain btw-just trying to show balance)

Daz, I always admire your cheery disposition and positive approach to your business.
I've been in this game 18 years (the last 3 and a half in Ireland). Believe me, if you turned up and tried to clean windows in bad weather here, you'd either get told where to go or not paid!
Best wishes,
John

My thoughts exactly. Said this many times.

regardless of what the customer thinks, if its chuffing it down with rain why would you want to stay out in it working unless you absolutely had to? i start earlier or work later another day to catch up if its bad

+1. if its heavy rain or snow customers understand that you not be working.

I don't think I would keep at this job if I had to work in all weather conditions to make a living, don't know if
I should admire or feel sorry for the guys that do.
More than enough good weather working days over the year to make a good living in this game.
