Title: Fan jets continued.............
Post by: Jonny 87 on January 27, 2015, 08:34:59 pm
Hi again.  ;D

Just got my gardiners superlite medium mixed brush with fan jets delivered. I forgot how good fan jets are for rinsing! Feels super quick. Only thing is to get them to fan out properly and quite strong, I've increased my pressure from 75 to 90.

What kind of flow rate do you guys use?

Im up to about 90 (5 lpm shurflow 100psi pump)

Do you guys use as high a flow rate as that with the fan jets? I definitely feels it rinses much faster with fans at the minute.

There great on all the frames too and blasting out bits or mess.

I'm also trying to perfect my "rinsing on" the glass technique. It's something I want to master and get the hang of.

I used to run about 60 to 70 with pencil jets. I now use Gardiner fans and its on 99 all the time. Sometimes its powerful, sometimes they look like fan jets, but that's down to the pump

Cool, that sounds about right to me then. Thanks mate.

I've both fan and pencil (1.4mm) on my brush and swap between them as the job I'm doing requires me to.
When working on regular maintenance cleans I use the pencil on about a 50 % flow.
When I use the fan jets e.g first cleans, shop signs, fascias and conny roofs I use a 100 % flow, never less,  I   find they just don't have the power I would like otherwise.

Flow jet 100psi 55-60
Sure flow 150psi 45

More than enough for me,  I supose if you have enough water as high as you like I've tried at 55 on the sure flow just too much water

I don't think I would max my controller out if you want more flow  just try a higher flow rate pump that some have mentioned then back the controller down , won't put to much strain on controller or pump In IMHO

Funnily enough i had this conversation earlier on!

I thought my pump was possibly on its way out, having to turn up my flow to get them to fan out!!
Serms i'm not the only one then (flow is at 70 at the minute, it was at 50-55 with gardiners old fans)

When I turn it on with back pressure, they fan ace. When back pressure goes and runs on pump, fan effect isn't as good. Not a problem because if pressure is low they are like pencil jets anyway....on 99

if they are the red low pressure fan jets you surely dont need such a high pressure

Not to make them fan you dont.

But to rinse faster you do.
