Hi all.
Long story short been away on holiday for three weeks,so back at it monday.so now all my work is three weeks behind and feeling bad turning up three weeks late especially on monthly work.do you guys ever feel the same and do the customers really care?
-
hi arnt you 5 weeks behind due to the xmas break
-
customers do not care.i've just come back from holiday and was over 3 weeks behind.i can assure you it's not a problem for custys. I would go as far as saying that 9 times out of 10 windows don't really need cleaning every 4 weeks. all my customers on a 4 weeks clean I now clean them ( and that's my own choice) more or less every 5 weeks . New custys : I encourage them to have their windows cleaned every 6 or 8 weeks and of course I charge a bit more . I loose about 10% of my custys a year which I believe is not too bad.

If they're worried where you've been then they'll be glad to see you.

I would say losing 10% of your customers every year is quite a lot?

At this time of the year most of your customers will still be skint from Christmas plus with the Dark nights they
wont even notice.
Just continue on and don't give it a second thought, personally I think the only people who are obsessed with
clean windows are window cleaners.
-
I'm over 100 jobs behind at the moment.
-
im always running behind. it is winter after all. shorter working days and crap weather also some time off etc etc

I agree.
If I take a holiday next year im thinking of having it in January, due to following reasons:
1) January weather is usually rubbish in this country which can make it hard to keep working.
2) I don't reckon most customers are that bothered about getting windows cleaned in January due to poor weather and the hangover from Christmas.

+1 I lose about 2-3%
-
I don't think 10% of lost customers including: custys moving out, messers or people just changing their minds is a lot. the average would be more around 20% ,25%

Fighting against a Tsunami!

If you're late now wait until after the rest of this week, they're predicting the horrible white stuff again!!!!
-
most window cleaners are behind with weather and also if you have a lot of work

"do you guys ever feel the same and do the customers really care? "
NO, don't worry about it, take this week off and start back next and you'll be back at square one :D

10% is a lot 25% is a joke. if anyone looses 25% of their work a year wether they replace it or even get more than they have lost they are doing something wrong
-
I agree; I'd be gutted if I lost 20% of my work in a year; that's £200 out of every £1,000. You must be a rubbish window cleaner or very expensive or both!!

id be gutted if i lost anything near that. everyone gets the moving out/ passed away here and there but nothing like those numbers
