We get the "While you're here, can you just" type of comment.  We don't do freebies either.

To be honest it makes you wonder how effective vacuuming carpets before cleaning really is. I have seen rugs vacuumed on the face fibres north south east and west, then turned over and vacuumed on the underside surface ( as Mike has done ) and seen as much soil dropping onto the floor as if it hadn't been touched. Bit controversial I know.

Have you seen the 'new' air rug dusting device from the states?

It's a dog grooming blower but seems to work and at £400 odd cheap compared to the big badgers

How did you guess :D .....their was a sandpit outside but these we're inside. I guess the kids were bringing it in on their shoes and clothes.

Funny how apart from the sand they didn't look too bad but the reverse of the rugs showed lots of liquids ( pee and drinks) had been spilt on the face of the rugs

When I used to work at Franklins we used to put carpets and rugs through their vibro beater and some carpets puthered dust out and would look like they had been cleaned with just effective dry soils removal.

The trouble with the air thing is you really need a mega compressor.

One of my students said when he began he used to clamp down the rugs and run a leaf blower under them, and they shook the heck out of the rugs and dusted them. We used to do the same with air movers.

The new air duster tool is something you could likely DIY - it is not at the level of the Auserehlian compressed air tool, which is a completely different level of dusting - and honestly not something many of us would invest in, in terms of not just the dollars but the containment required to hold all that dust that comes out. You must wear PPE with a respirator.

But the idea is a good one, because when you badger a rug to death, you have no suction, so you need to get rid of the soil somehow - it's just a shame that now you have two pieces of equipment required. Some of us use upright vacuums and vacuum across the back to beat, and vacuum up the soil from the front. However, I am looking at the new duster tumbler that Centrum Force had at the last show here in Vegas. That's an interesting concept - and I like the mechanized component so you don't need a person operating it. But I am sure it's pricey as all the mechanized options are in this field.

I find to effectively remove all the dirt and grime from carpets and rugs you need a machine that is far more powerful than any you can pick up on the high street. The truck-mount system that we use at http://www.aquawavecleaning.co.uk is ten times more powerful than your average vacuum cleaner and it keeps the noise outside too

That's really interesting Angela, probably much better than the systems we use at www.cleaning4swindon.co.uk
That truckmount looks far more powerful than anything I clean home carpets with at http://cleaning4swindon.co.uk/home-carpet-cleaning/ and maybe we shold conisder something similar for our commercial clients http://cleaning4swindon.co.uk/commercial-carpet-cleaning/
Certainly it might be useful for our end of tenancy stuff http://cleaning4swindon.co.uk/landlords-and-tenants-carpet-cleaning/ and it might be something anyone contacting us might want to consider http://cleaning4swindon.co.uk/contact/  or before checking out our latest blog posts  http://cleaning4swindon.co.uk/category/latest-news/

Good old Wootton Bassett. The mud spring is the second most depressing thing we're famous for.
