Hi guys need a little idea of what the average wage or hourly rate is for me to pay window cleaner
-
7.00 per hour if in van with me or 8.00 if on own I think that's fair as you have to factor holiday pay in etc
-
£120 a day in your van
£150 in his.
I don't like hourly pay.

How long is a piece of string. Depends.

£120 a day for someone to just literally clean windows?
Mate that's amazing money! They don't have to worry about equipment, diesel/petrol, insurance, customers, all the paper work etc etc,
They just do some windows and get 600 quid a week for doing an easy job? Employ me! I'd take a pay cut for that ease of job, imagine going home not having to do anything at all ever, and still getting 600 a week!
-
I find that rather a generous rate of pay PK. In addition to what's been listed I'd say hey also don't have to worry about cash-flow, which can be a real PITA and non payment of services. Both of those things are more of a concern from my angle than what's been listed; as you still have to pay regardless of if and when you get paid.
-
120 a day that's a lot I was thinking more 10 an hour lol

Average rate of pay? This is right at the top end.
How many days a month do you use subbies pk? I'd bet they are lining up to work for you.

send me an application form. :)

Is that the full 24hrs?
-
My friend does it on how much they clean. He says they normally get about £90 a day (northern price)They never finish later than 2pm
-
I have 3 lads out as we speak all on £150 a day for today and 2moz over in reading doing thames water head office which is a massive job and putting the hours in, doing domestic work its normally around £80 a day unless a big job or an early start etc it works out around £12 an hour with hours worked on domestic which id say is a fair amount to pay if you want a good job done.
-
There is not many semi skilled jobs paying £12o a Day.
-
The length of a piece of string Is simple......
It's the same length on both sides starting from the middle.
-
There is not many semi skilled jobs paying £12o a Day.
There ain't many paying £12 and hour either.
-
Theres no need to pay tgat much surely.up here people would be very happy with 8 quid an hour and theres thousands out there that would do it for less!
-
The rate you pay depends I guess on the amount you turnover per day. As part of a two man team turning over £450-£500 per day, I think £80 is ok. Turning over £250-£300 per day for two men it would be excessive.
-
£120 a day, that's nigh on 30k a year. That's ridiculous, surly most pay 50-60 quid a day for someone who helps them?
I had a guy working for me for 6 months a year or so ago, and he was on £55 a day, which was better than any other retail type job was offering, plus he was home by 2.30pm
He loved it. Until I let him go as I went wfp to do it all on my own !
-

Depends where you are in country I suppose, but I was £7 ph 12 years ago working wfp in a van on my own for a firm.
-
If you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
I know lads that work for some of the Nationals and there paid around £7 an hour.
These lads do anything they can to cut corners and knock jobs.
If you pay pour wages and your staff have half a brain how long before they start nicking your work or cutting corners or even set up and go it alone.

Agree with that.
Its a difficult one. It depends how much work gets done, their level of responsibility etc.
I currently pay one guy £90 per day, he's been working for me for 3 months now. I've known him for a long time. Early signs are that he is very thorough, very conscientious, can talk to the customer, wants to work, is 20 minutes early every day. Remembers to do things that I forget. Eventually (quite a while away) he will be on about £110 per day as he will be responsible for a van and another worker. IF it goes ok from now he will be worth paying that as I would expect two of them to do £600 a day minimum in a van. I think a percentage based pay structure could be good.
If I was having someone just work with me as a 'helper' it would be about £70 - £80 per day after they have proved themselves after a while.
-
I have a mate who I have know for 15 years working with me I pay him £8 per hour and he's very good at the job and with the custys I couldn't ask for someone better..

If you did have someone everyday what would you pay?

I have thought about this.
The figure I came up with is £500 a week.
But it's only theoretical as to do that they'd have to be employed.
And I'm not going down that road.
That'd be made up of a basic pay and a bonus scheme type of incentive too.
Not just £100 a day no matter what happens.

I pay £50 -£60 a day , several hours , I pay for sarnies and he brings the milk and coffee .
He works about 1x a week

£300 per working day without vat.
Added after. Regardless of the daily rate, I reckon with overheads (van, holidays etc) they have to be returning 3 x daily pay. So if two in a van at £150 a day it should be £450 or so.

Hi guys need a little idea of what the average wage or hourly rate is for me to pay window cleaner
The national minimum wage will be a typical wage to pay a window cleaner. However a good window cleaner will deserve and command a lot more. And that "lot more" final price will depend upon the work you have, what it pays and what he wants. It will literally have to be negotiated.

You boys volunteering to work for PK for £150 a day must be on some sort of naff money.
-
I havnt gone down this road, but I've thought about it.
I think what it would like is a basic rate of minimum wage which they get regardless. Then a % of the days turnover. They would only get this "bonus" if they completed the job or day without any legitimate complaints.
I think this would be a good balance of quality, speed of work, and giving the employee a sense of job satisfaction.
I'm not sure what the % should be though.

Thank you Tripster. Now go back to FB we have a big match tomorrow. I reckon we could go a long way in the cup.
-
For the record I pay £11.00 an hour. Most likely getting another van this year, there'll be a bonus scheme incorporated on the days the extra van is used.

Sorry mate. I did.
I only use 4 subbies for windows.
On average, probably, once a week.
I do get asked a lot for work but I say no to most of them.
The lads I use I trust. That's worth the money.
The lads I use though, they've got all their own rounds.
So it's a case of if they've got time they do a bit for me, if they haven't, one of the other lads will. There's always someone.
The girls are different. They work every day. But that's office cleaning, not windows.
I should point out, I'm most definitely not one of the big boys.
I use subbies for work that I'd otherwise do myself.
After my son was born I wanted to work less.
So I do.
They do the work, I take a cut. I don't earn as much as I would if I did the work myself but I'm home by 5pm every night. On a 4 day week. That wouldn't happen without the subbies.
It's not for everyone, they might like to make more money and work more hours.
But it works just right for me.
