Test drove one today and well impressed. Got a T5 transporter at the moment but cant make my mind up to get another T5 or a transit ? thanks
-
Got a Custom. Had it two years this April. Great vehicle.
-
Whatever decision you make , both nice vans
-
Wait for the t6 coming out this year :D
-
What MPG are you all getting from your customs? I was told they were very thirsty which made me go for something smaller.
-
Got a custom, had it 6 months.
Have to say i love it. Just waiting on a new connect now and i think that will be just as nice tbh (inside cab and to drive)
Only gripes are i wish i went for LWB and the biggest engine.
I am having it remapped in scotland and the chap has said it will be identical to the top engine. Only difference on my engine vs biggest IS the mapping

Anywhere between 25mpg and 30mpg depending on what load i carry.
Average is 27mpg.
TBH mpg doesn't interest me at all. I fell in love with how it drove.
Test drove a bi turbo VWT5 but it meant a fair wack on finance and thought %*%$&((( that!
-
Don't like the custom. I have lwb mk7 and its better MPG.Better on the butt as the seats are rock hard on custom. Suspension is really soft. It bottomed out on a few country roads doing 40. It does drive over bumps much better

290 downwards and the suspension is pants. 310 upwards and its great to drive.
Never noticed a soft ride in my custom. My lad drove me home when i was pished and it was a great ride in the passenger seat. I think 3 in the cab would be "too" comfy.

27mpg :o That is thirsty. At ~18-20k miles per year that's a lot of £ difference to the 49mpg that my berlingo is doing.

Ah i only do 8k if that. When i move closer to my rounds, i would imagine 3-5k a year.
Combo used to do 45mpg. But i couldn't earn £500 in a day out of my combo ;)

Some great info there fellas !! Cant make up my mind but you get more for your money with ford though. ;D
-
It costs me about £80 for a tank of petrol nowadays but I get nearly 600 miles out of that in my 290 custom
I drive sensibly though

It has the face only a mother could love. Wash your mouth out lol!

had one on demo and thought it was nice but the train weight is not enough for me shame as I don't like the look of the new transit

I have a new Custom coming in March, Pure h20 put me onto nationwidecars and it saved me £1500 on what a dealership could do.

Look at the torque stats.
You'll be using the crawler lane with anymore weight on than just a full tank of diesel and a big pack up.

I got lucky on mine really. Cancelled order with some toys.
Just priced mine up and the dealer was slightly more money, but i had the van with 14 days.
My mate just went with nationwide and got a stonking deal on a new car. Even Ford said go with them hahahahah

Check & see if Superchips do a Bluefin remap, save you a trip to Scotland & you can add & remove it yourself at will. I had my 2.2 4x4 remapped with the Bluefin & it's like a completely different car- in every way! It's untraceable too. ;)

He is considered the best for the mk7 transit and the custom uses the same engine.
That's why I am travelling up to him :)

I wouldn't be too confident if his website is anything to go by.
Anyhow, you do know you can kiss goodbye to your Ford warrantee as far as engine & electronics goes? You will have to inform your insurance as your van would be modified & they may may refuse to insure you- although you will get insured by some companies most probably with an increased premium.
Have you checked the Superchips website to see if they do a Bluefin remap for your variant? If they do I would seriously consider it. Superchips are probably the best known in the industry with an impeccable reputation. The Bluefin unit allows you full control- it's a hand held electronic unit which plugs into your diagnostic port & you install/uninstall the map at will. It only takes approx 4 minutes. You can download revised maps (should you have any issues) & have a complete new remap within minutes. I'll not go into fine detail of how remapping an ECU works in different ways but the Bluefin is untraceable all bar actually dyno testing, but for peace of mind it's so quick & simple to just go back to the original manufacturers map for when you have any warrantee/service work carried out by Ford etc.
-
I have the new vivaro and it is a really great van, fuel consumtion however when fully loaded is 35 mpg when empty and on eco and driving really well its still only 40mpg (which im happy with) for them to say it 47 is untrue imo
-
for those wondering about the torque etc, I have the bi-turbo model and it drives just as well / fast as any other van I have driven with no difference with 650 in the back, it is just as quick as the transit , doblo and ducato that i have used in the past

Warranty wilp be void.
Insurance increase of £45 -£90
He is considered THE best on just about every ford forum I know and use.

Is that a will or will not be void?
