Its been a learning curve using a gas boiler to warm water to clear glass but if a perfect system to worm water the answer is a NO. I don`t want put off anyone trying to use one. But be prepared to spend ,to finding out if it will work for you. First let me say I am no dummy when it come to the technicalities of these systems. But there is just so many if effecting the systems to operate with success. I will be the first to take my hat off if they work for you. What kills most systems is the reason we fit them in the first place"COLD WEATHER" I am afraid they are are just not made for our cold weather as well as all the hoses and fittings that burst and all the adjustment to our systems we need to make.
So are just lucky to have the right delivery pump with the right spec to do the job and the right insulation and the right hose and fitting to be successful.
Most going blindly hoping it will works out. I have just spent to much so I will be calling it a day.
Regrets on trying? Some one has to try these new things to prove them good or bad.

Appart from the boilers going bust how was it using hot water system , would you benefit from one off those heater boxes the ones that plumb into your fuel
-
Mine worked for about 10 minutes and I got all excited and then it broke.
I think the new van I will spend the money and get a diesel system.
-
I used hot for 4 seasons but if I have it over not worth it.They are temperamental setups always going wrong. Cold is as good, its a good marketing tool.
If the system is frozen if worth squat. Nice when they work.

My Amery is on it's 3rd year , but isn't working efficiently now .
Jonny swears by his Corwood heater
-
I had three years out if the anmeny heater, no probs atall.
Then switched because I wanted no 20 min cut off so bought the corwoods.
This one has worked without a blip. Perfect in my eyes. I feel it's all in the settings.
Plus that I only run mine on minimum heat setting as I like just warm water not hot.
-
Think warm is fine, hoses are supple and warm to hold cleans a little better and you get minimal or no issues as running hot, just an extra cost of gas
-
I have 2 anmeny boilers that have been working perfectly for 2 & 1/2 years, before that I had L5's and they were a pain. All my plumbing where possible is John Guest and other connectors are either jubilee clipped on or double O ringed.
When cold weather strikes I put a heater in the van on a frost setting, I've never damaged a boiler. This week I've been working in temperatures down to -5 no problems. I've never killed a boiler yet.

I use an immersion heater never had no probs with it,

I use an immersion heater never had no probs with it,
Same here. I've had it for 4yrs now and is simple and straightforward to use, just leave plugged in on a timer overnight and enough warm water for the next day.
I also bought a Ameny heater which has come in handy for F/S/G cleans etc when I need hotter water, but don't use it that much.

The corwoods look like L5's, I have Anmeny 8 litre boiler, had it for 3 years, use hot every day, only minor fault is loose battery box cover. Perfect for first cleans IMO and we do a lot of them every week..

I use diesel heater. You get what you pay for. No problems if you know about the parts inside your system. Learn how best to use them. Hot water is more beneficial to the user. Costs more to run than a cold system. Doesnt clean much quicker, just nicer to work with. Its like the difference between a transporter and a vivaro. They both do the same job but one costs twice as much.

"Think warm is fine, hoses are supple and warm to hold cleans a little better and you get minimal or no issues as running hot, just an extra cost of gas"
so how much do you reckon it costs in gas per week ? and how much are the heaters to buy and have installed?
-
my lpg heater sytem is great , had it fitted by procare in Essex , never had a problem in last 4 years
-
Had my Anmeny heater for over a year now, use it most days and love it!
I was a little worried over the last few days with the frost but it fired up first time every time. This boiler is superb. I think i paid £67 delivered...cant knock over a years use for that kind of money! If it breaks...ill just buy another one.
I have my water hot to, not just warm. I come across the occasional burst hose burst hose but thats usually my fault if i havent turned pump off quickly enough.
Slap Bash you must of just been un lucky but these heaters are superb in my opinion.

£180 for heater and fittings. £2 per day to run it on propane. Cheap as chips.
-
an meny heater here too with no issues, set up from first day with no problems!
-
i like to have a diesel heater system but they are too expensive . not only to buy but to run at i litre of diesel an hr .that sounds really expensive to me ,i'll stick to gas me thinks
-
They dont use anywhere near that amount of fuel.
-
Immersion is great - supple and non-kinky hoses. Loverly.
-
I reckon using the immersion that it's more expensive to run than a boiler?
Has anyone added up? Is it more electric cost than the £2 of propane per day I use?
-
I sound like a great idea if your in the north where its generally colder and can stay at minus for longer in the morning.
In south london we are a big more pampered with a higher temperature. It only got to -2 overnight once this week and I just put the greenhouse heater in there that I have had for several years.
next week is 6 or 8 degrees so back to normal temperatures.

Its just to much of a PITA with gas in van insurance always being a problem is it safe is it insured or not extra cost for hoses and fittings. The risk of freezing. All three boiler froze and I am in the south. Worst it does not make more money. I like the idea but to much crap.
