Hi
I have been advised by a very kind member here that a Varistream reduces the voltage going to the pump and hence can be regulated to a water flow rate that suits the person operating the pole, and that the flow rate will remain constant at various heights.
I have also been told that the unit is 'sensitive' to the flow rate being switched off at the pole and switches the pump off as would a pressure switch.
Please can someone tell me if the pressure that the varistream cuts the pump out is also reduced accordingly. I have a 100psi Shurflo pump so so am asking if this could be reduced to say 50psi etc.
Sorry, this may seem to be a stupid question to some of you.
Thanks in advance,
Spruce

the short answer is yes by means of the small blue dial inside the varistream

Hi spruce, I cant say i have measured the pressure at the end of the hose, but i have a 100psi shurflo pump and i can say that it builds up to the same pressure no matter what the flow rate selected on the varistream, whether 1 L per min or the full 6 Lpm.
There is a control inside the varistream box that allows you to set the cut off pressure lower if you want to.
