I don't know about the facelift pole but gardiners poles had a John guest fitting joining the brush and neck hose to pole hose.
Check this is fitted in properly by removing the neck.

WHY DONT YOU HAVE A LOOK? ::)roll
its a simple task richy.my new extreme pole has a john guest fitting on the hose out of the resi neck that connects to the pole hose.
what pole hose are you using?if you havent got the JG fitting and its hose going into the connector piece it needs to be PU hose really for a nice watertight fit.other pole hose is usually too soft and pops out causing leaks.

Not in the poor it won't, there is a t piece at the top to connect to brush jets that's all...
You may have split the hose because of the cold...
