Just fitted and tried out aquatap today and wasn't that impressed. It was unbelievably loose kept turning itself off an on when moving brush side by side when cleaning top edge of glass not to mention cleaning above vents filling them up with water no doubt. I hold pole to the side a lot of time when cleaning low glass and was turning itself off from just the weight of brush. It was mentioned on here that it can be tightened if you remove pins. Would need to be tightened quite a bit before it gets thumbs up from me. On a positive note it definitely is very easy to use with little added weight buts needs to be ALOT tighter. Wayne

Aqua Dapter mate ;)

You need to give it a chance try standing to the other side of the window this keeps it on.
A lot of it is about how you grip the pole, less wrist action will keep the Aqua tap where it needs to be

With a heavier brush the angle of the brush when its not on the window can sometimes move the tap. It just takes a bit of time to get your head round what's happening but well worth it once you do. It does tighten up slightly after a week or two at the most which will make a difference.

Good luck with it Wayne,
I'd be interested to hear how you feel about the aqua tap in a week or so when/if you get used to it and if it does tighten up at all ? can you post back here with your verdict then ?
I was very interested in buying one of these but I had my doubts about its practicalities on my round - with so many period properties and angles I have to reach from to clean bay windows etc.
many thanks

Had it in this morning but took it of after the first house and the reason for this was that we were cleaning awkward Windows above a porch which required to hold an extended pole to the side and the weight of the brush kept turning the water off so couldn't rinse the glass we were cleaning. I'm still training employees so don't want to make it any difficult for them, he had same problem too. Will definitely try it again. Could be one of the best water controls on the market if only you could adjust tightness of it.

strip it down and remove grease / lubricant, re assemble, as peter mentioned it will tighten up.
I now use mine on a swivel - quic loc and actually find it easier than on a fixed head brush

I think there is a you tube video showing how to take it apart.
However it is fairly easy, just be careful not to lose the pins. I put ptfe tape around the rubber washers and it tightened up a treat. Also using a lighter brush helps prevent it turning off so easily.

To be fair though, why on earth should that be necessary with a brand new product?

Take it apart , remove the 2 o rings and put a tiny slither of Sellotape in the groves then replace the o rings , works superb
