Then Friday one of the belts on my van engine snapped ( luckily only the alternator one) so I lost another day.
Then today I came out to work and 3 customers have left gates locked, Im
Beyond boiling point.

If you get stressed about a few days of due to weather, how do you get the time for a holiday. Does someone cover you
-
Omg - holidays, covering ya work is a nightmare. I go away a week at a time no more I can't cope with the stress, after 5 days ur mind starts to go
-
You can work your tits off and do a few days extra and a few after to make up a week. How do you get a holiday in Australia then :o

What ? work the Saturday and Sunday the weekend before you go and the weekend after you come back or do a few extra hours
during the week.
Why do guys make one of the simplest ways of earning a living so complicated and hard.

If only it was that simple when most of your work is commercial Sean. Jobs need doing and signing for 52 weeks a year, some 3 or 4 x a week so missing them out for a full week isn't an option.

No I don't have people cover me, but I wasn't expecting high winds in January right after xmas! I do have savings etc but I hate dipping into them.
It's just one of them weeks😁

Really don't get how you are behind with the winds over Spennymoor I have just cracked on ,
Some lads judge the wind by their own street I get out their and as despite strong winds a lot of streets are more sheltered than you think only 1 day behind and looking good .

I cleaned 5 terraced houses in what can only be described as stormy weather.
I had done half so was committed and it finished off the estate.
Collected the money later on and basically 99% perfect!
So good advice! You never know until you GET to work.

Agree with that. I got caught in a bad storm after finishing in one area on Thursday. My next 4 jobs were 7 miles from where I was. I was tempted to park up for a bit, but I decided to drive over to the next jobs. As I got there the storm had just finished and I cracked on.

Yeah my storm was Thursday. About 2-3pm. Was really bad!

But it is that simple Deeege, your the boss and if your going to take on work you need to know that you can cover it.
There's no point being your own boss if your a slave to the business.

Trying to set my business up right from the start, f*** getting stressed about weather/sickness or holidays, 3-4 days window cleaning per week max other 1-2 days for carpet cleaning/pressure washing/gutters/car valeting/ basically add on jobs that i dont have to commit to so can afford to bunch work up or have a few days off where needed.
Im not very experienced but i would have though if you are committing to commercial jobs 5 days a week 52 weeks a year something is wrong with your business model, just a thought ???

I can't see anything wrong with the business model. It's just too much / a lot for one man or one team of two which I think is how Deege works as there's no easy way to break.

Sorry mate but your last sentence is nonsense.
We have a lot of commercial work that needs servicing daily, 2x, 3x, and 4x weekly. Some of this is our best paying work and to not take it on would be, for us, ridiculous. Does that make me a slave to the business like Seank says? I dont personally think so.
I work in a team of 2 anyway so I'm always able to have a yearly 2 week foreign holiday without much rescheduling, aswell as long weekends away as and when I want them.
