Title: van exit port for hose/reel
Post by: lee_dewing on January 10, 2015, 06:47:03 pm
Hi everyone.
Remember one of you guys made a hole in van floor to pull hose through
Also had metal hose wheel feeder which looked great for reeling in and out hose.

I lift hose reel in and out for my work but interested to see where you guys cut holes in your vans and if there are wfp suppliers that do this for you (I live in essex)

Thanks lee.

Any pictures ?
Don't think most would mind too much a hole in floor. It can be boarded over. A hole cut in side of van  :o would look good. Then the problem if van faces wrong way. You would have to wrap hose round van

Ditto. Would look wack anyway.

Rob price wise. Hmmm dunno. It was part of an install. Gave em my bank card and let loose lol

Should have my video done very soon. Should be good. As I can show electric vs non electric. Matching reels etc.

Hi Robert, pricing is dependant on vehicle and what kind of roller system you require. Please email your requirements to enquiries@grippatank.co.uk and we will quote you accordingly  :)

Why not unless your planning to pack the job in a van is just another piece of equipment, and why would it look wack
all you need is a Zadi water filler that's used on a camper van ( check ebay for picture ) you just feed the hose through
and put the cap back on when the days work is done.

Hi Johnboy
is that two roller guides you use ?
one in the floor and then one at 90 degrees under the bumper ?
is there a reason for that ? - prevents snagging on tyres if you have to pull hose around the side of the van perhaps ?
I see that gardiners sell one that could be fitted through the floor, was considering it.
would appreciate your opinion or experience using one.

I love it
if u look on the grippatanksite they have some pics of similar setups
it's really smooth winding in
and yes it's setup  as you said,  two guides.
I got the idea from a lad called Tim,  a while back on this site

Jon - you bought from grippa tank . ?

I assume buy 2 , one on floor , then the one near bumper as a guide and prevent shafting .

Correct, except that I bought from Turning point.
I had them installed at my local garage

One of the guides needs to be the 90 degree guide and one the flat type that gardiners also sell

I think youl find most don't go over weight all the time. Most employed people tell bosses NO. Its them that loose out when pulled over by the police.

Anyway. What bike is it that's over weight when rode? :D
