Title: Insurance on one or more vehicles
Post by: H20cleaning on January 09, 2015, 12:16:18 pm
I have just been told by a friend that years no claims bonus only count on 1 vehicle?
My dads said I can insure his Audi as he never uses it and he's away for 6months a year, I did a insurance quote with my years no claims bonus and it was cheap. My friend then said you can use them if you used them on your van policy😱 is this true?

they can mirror it across! you can't take the mirrored years to another insurance company though after use

That is true. When I got a second van I had the same problem - full no claims on one vehicle and no no claims on the other.

I insured both vans on a single insurance policy and then split the second van off after a year but left the first van with that insurance company. The renewal notice showed full no claims for each van so I used that as proof of no claims with the new insurance company. That was 7 years ago now though.

You may also check to see what the difference in price of insurance is if you are a named driver on his insurance - pay the difference etc. I'm not sure if you are permitted to have two seperate private insurance policies on the same vehicle - yours and your Dad's.

I was going to insure it with him as named driver because it was £300 cheaper
