Is this another one of your jokes Dave 😃
Title: Re: Oooh - look what I found!!

No, just 'spotted' it. That's a lot of GG4 for a 650l tank if my maths is correct - over a litre? Must be joking.  ???

"GG-4 in solution is 98.7% water, and the way it works is by creating a negative ion, non-magnetic surface on the pane.  This does two things: first, it instantly breaks the bonds that hold particulates to the pane, and second, it prevents moisture from clinging to the pane. This leaves your customer with windows that shine like diamonds in the sun"

i think it would work quite well, probably best with gg3 as the water would be classed as soft?? ....gg4 is more for hard water........but probably would work anyway

Well according to their website it works fine but there's no way I'd be chucking a litre of the stuff in my tank at the price of GG4 but it's interesting the theory behind the way it works and the effect on calcium deposits. Might be worth a small squirt in the tank to see what happens  ???

10ml anyone?

Dazmond I owe both you and Kempy an apology, on reading your first review I honestly did believe you where involved
with this product or with these guys in some way.
For that guys I apologize.

Nice one SeanK .
The 3 persons behind Vision have created a product and have produced it to share with others and help them work better .  We believe in Vision and think it's very good . As with all products such as aqua-adaptors and gardiners Poles they've all had upgrades and new models .
The hundreds of persons who have bought Vision have all given us some great feedback and also some negative feedback .
We can easily address the issues and can tweak the Ingrediences  so that it gives the shine and glide , but we can reduce the bubbles .

SeanK ,
Myself  , Kevin and Jonny are the 3 persons involved with Vision .
We have never got a friend to post a positive review on our behalf .
I only know persons on CIU because of CIU .
As simple as that .
I only know a handful of Wfp guys anyhow .
Probably the same as most Wfp guys do .

I've been adding GG3 to the water for years.

The water they add to the solution is DI water anyway.

Even a few drops of Ecover per 25ltrs helps and doesn't cause spotting.

I put a small squirt in last night of GG4 - see if anything happens today.
On their website they reckon you can clean with the stuff and hose the windows down with a sprinkler and still leave the glass clean. Won't be testing that theory.  ;D

Well I've worked with it all morning - amazing!
What's amazing is how little GG4 is required to alter the properties of a whole 650l tank of pure. Most noticeable thing is the bubbles - this surprised me because GG4 normally doesn't foam up particularly well for trad cleaning.
The Placebo effect is very strong too. Because I know the additive is there I feel the cleaning power has increased and the windows shine even more.
Water cascades down the glass as normal but looks/i] slower but this is due to watching the bubbles I feel. No extra glide from what I could tell.
TDS increased from zero to 0001 by adding a squirt.

Results seem remarkably similar to the other threads.
If you have some GG4 try it - see what you think.

Your in a good position now to do a side by side test of vision versus gg4. I think you will be surprised at the difference.

Gg4 in pure water is far better than just pure water on it's own so I'm not surprised you seem to be liking it. Whatever you do......don't tell Seank you are noticing advantages of adding something to pure. He may well self destruct.  ;D

Undecided whether it is actually is better or not. The bubbles don't look particularly foamy - more like when you fit a brand new hose reel. Maybe the water has lost some surface tension or become softer I don't know. Something definitely has changed though.

Might try the old floating paper clip trick when I get time.

Interesting ........
Just toppeed my tank up with 300l and a dash. Except I put the dash in first and the transfer pipe foamed the water.

Look at the Froff on that! ...... still 000 tds  :o

Water - gone frew the froff!
Title: Re: Oooh - look what I found!!

The paper clip trick:

In picture 1 the paper clip is floating on pure water by surface tension alone.
In picture 2 I added ONE DROP of GG4 to the water and instantly the paper clip sunk - the surface tension was broken.I think GG4 will be added to my tank in future!

The water droplets on glass should lose a lot of surface tension and spread resulting in less beading and probably need less water. At such small quantities the tds remains zero too.

A mix we came up with was really good and then in the summer on a hot day we all had terrible results . It's very hard to find the right balance , dosages and quantities .
Title: Re: Oooh - look what I found!!
Post by: Dave Willis on January 09, 2015, 04:10:06 pm
;D I think it will work fine in very small doses. It's not exactly a mix and if it didn't work I'd email Titan Labs to find out why it didn't.
I'm guessing you mixed it with something else.

Part of a reply I had from Titan Labs:

Yes, GG-4 changes the properties of water.  You’re definitely on the right track, but be careful of the magic potions, you don’t want one that contains surfactants such as those used in dish soap.  They will  leave a filmy haze and dirt re-deposition is brought on very quickly.  GG-4 breaks the surface tension of water, pure or otherwise.  How we do that is a trade secret.  It stays wet on hot or windy days and leaves the pane sparkling clean.  And thanks to the sheeting rinse, you’ll never find spotting a problem.

The fact that you’re using pure water means that most of GG-4’s work has already been done, allowing it to be used in a much smaller dosage ratio.  The normal ratio of 500:1 can be lowered to 1000:1 or lower, depending on preference.

Some product information is attached.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,

-Alan

hi ross what benefit do you think you gain from adding gg3 to your pure water?

It may be a bit different around here to other areas due to sea salt. I just find that adding GG3 (or is it GG4 - the lighter coloured one) seems to cut through it better. Frames also seem to clean up easier especially on first cleans.

Lately I've been trying Ecover washing up liquid which I think does a better job.

I only ever add a very very small amount and definitely not enough to wash dishes with. I tried various amount and even with bubbles at the brush head, the windows still came up clean. It just with bubbles, rinsing, as per the Vision argument, it all takes longer.

I've tried all types of stuff like Virosol, Citraclean, Rinse aid, etc but Ecover seems to be about the best so far.

Hi rosskesava

Question I've thought gg4 into my tank how much have you guys added to yours, I've got a 500 litre tank

I use on con roof and like result

GG3 is the orange stuff for soft water whilst GG4 is the blue stuff for hard water. However, Titan recommend the blue GG4 for wfp for some reason - something to do with the polymeric way it cleans. I didn't get much joy when I pressed what 'Polymeric' actually meant. Sounds like it's something to do with molecular make up - bit over my head really. There's something about negative ions in their blurb too.
" it works is by creating a negative ion, non-magnetic surface on the pane"

Thanks Dave.

Very interesting stuff and having read the above again, I think I'll go back to GG4.

Annoying, I've got GG3 which I found works better with pure water than GG4 for trad stuff.

Hi rosskesava

I use one of those measuring things that Titan sell for about 50p or something stupid.

500ltr's, what I use roughly equates to about 4 teaspoons.

About half of my work is right near the coast. This weeks work is all along the cliff tops and there is absolutely no point in doing them.  :-[

What if it's an offshore wind?
Title: Re: Oooh - look what I found!!
Post by: Dave Willis on January 15, 2015, 08:23:45 am
I have found it cuts through snail trails really fast - it's bound too, they always come off quickly this time of year.
Also it removes spiders droppings really instantly - bound too for the same reasons above - everything comes off quicker in the winter.
Removes bird poo in seconds - as above really, bird poo has been well soaked by the rain for the last month.

Better shine? Maybe.
Better sheeting? I think so
Better cleaning? slightly.

What if it's an offshore wind?

Off shore wind is fine but it doesn't happen often.

Yesterday I borrowed some GG4 of another windie, enough to last untill the bottle I've ordered arrives.

Dave, the penny has dropped and I now get exactly what you're on about.
