A while back bunged all my old dears into one round so one day a month is spend drinking too much tea, chatting too much, talking about how things used to be back then etc etc ... figured best to have 1 slowish day than getting held up constantly and tbh its a nice way to spend a day one day a month. :)
Last job of day ALWAYS have to go in a for a drink and a chat but really nice old couple ... talking away and out she comes very matter of fact
"he wont be here for much longer - got bowel cancer - probably gone before summer"
ermmmm sorry to hear that says me ???
"well been here for 87 years - done a lot of things - raised a great family and got no regrets - we all gotta go some time"
feeling humbled by the guys attitude to life and dying the moment was killed when I got up to leave and put my gardiners wooly hat on and up she pipes
"is that to keep your brains warm love" before I could answer he pipes up
"brains he aint got any would have a proper job if he did"
I guess if you're 87 and dying you can say what you like ;D

I used to clean most of the flats in a sheltered accommodation for the elderly. It only took me four or five hours to clean all the windows, then the rest of the day was spent collecting from, chatting with, and drinking tea with said customers. I loved it.

CLASSIC. I would say " I am a mechanic but can earn 10x more cleaning muck of windows and drinking tea with senile old people" lol
