hi guys, i know the 'which machine' threads has been done to death but im going to start another anyway
looking to add a 2nd HWE machine shortly as a backup. I have narrowed my choices to
Airflex pro 400 - series HD electro setup and magma heater
Amtech PFX1085
my main desired features are 1cord for pump/vac, 2nch cord for heat. hoses i typically run around 60ft and max 75ft on occasion. so these machines should be all i need- i will use as a portable is intended.
i spoke to jamie at csuk who commented on a possible issue with the amtech, but its the only negative i have heard on either machine.
price wise there is around £500 between the two- the airflex being the dearer machine.
what would you choose of the two and why? £2500 with heat is max budget btw
regards

Dont think £2500 is going to buy muc h of a new machine ? A magna heater alone costs £600
-
I would also give Chris a call at alltec as they have a similar machine
-
Lewis if the plug situation wasn't too pressing I would suggest you buy my storm and add a magma........I had the big powerflite version of the machine you are considering for 3 years and it was spot on ........Alan(Swindon)

My main machine is a Airflex Storm and recently purchased a back up machine for when my main machine might let me down, very rarely, but also for smaller jobs like hotel work or flats when a large machine is too heavy and big to use. If its a back up machine you will only be using it infrequently so why not get a smaller lightweight machine, which is what i opted for and ii got he Alltech Express 130pis twin vac with in-built tank, cracking machine and only cost around £1.3K new so well under your budget. :)

hi thanks for the input so far,
Stuart - the £2500 is a guide at the moment. with the electro vacs and magma the pro 400psi works out at £2637 inc vat or there abouts .
the PFX1085 with the 10% off from my last order is £1923 inc vat- non adjustable heat on these tho.
I dont need any hoses or wands as i have one for it already
JIM- which alltec machine are you referring to? i liked the look of the advance- but seems quite a bit heavier and also dearer again- i ruled the enforcer out due to price also.
Alan- the storm is too pricey, i want new where possible as ive had some scrappy dogs buying used before, i also had the big powrflite for a while - the heat was incredible but its hard to manouver for a short as$ like myself. also i was concerned that it was too hot for some jobs with no temp control.
all opinions welcome, keep them coming

hi Richard, i should have added that this may be replacing my main machine later this year, not just a backup purchase.

Sorry I thought I read £2500 was your maximum budget

Your right, I did say max budget, but I'm prepared to budge a little for that machine, as far as I can see the next upgrades I.e turbo, storm, enforcer, alltec are in the 3k+ range.

I've got an Airflex Storm with autofill, auto-empty, remote control, magma heater. Bought it new about 10 months ago. Done very little work as I only bought it to cover about 3 months when I changed over my truckmount. Just about to sell if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer, it sounds ideal! Unfortunately due to cash flow at this time of year and just buying a new tm4 just before Xmas I will be purchasing this machine on a lease so it will have to be new from a manufacturer.
Thanks again, if I had the spare cash I'd bite your hand off.

I would say buy what ever machine you desire , a 500 or so difference will soon be forgotton .
The alltec machine refered to might be the plastic Elite , Alltec could build this with electros , 2" connector , a built in inline heater ( and an immersion if u want ) for less that the Airflex ,id say .
But the Airflex u mentioned would be good so get that if u want , Enforcer ... is 2050+vat , not outrageous ? you could add the Amtech CFR 3kw external heater for 450 incl vat .

The elite is the machine from alltec can be made to your requirements

Steve.
what is your asking price for the storm?
