where the hose connect to the reel its really losing a lot of water any tips or is it just a case or buying new hoselock connectors and plenty of ptfe tape
or anything else on the market that can give a better fit
-
Use the brass connectors.
PTFE
And that has always done me...
-
Could be the o ring is dry, put a little silicone grease ( or Vaseline ) on it.

Just waiting for the silly ring piece remarks ;D
-
I find its always the o ring that needs replacing or greasing.
-
where the o ring in the hose reel or the connectors
-
Is this a wind up?
I like a good laugh. ;)

no im just crap at mending things hose reels got new hoselocks and plenty of ptfe tape so just wondering what else it could be as im rubbish and repairs ;D
-
Shouldn't need any ptfe tape on a hoselock connection only parts that are screwed together.
All the male connectors have a rubber O ring on them sometimes wear out or flatten in shape - they can be prised off and replaced.
Make sure the hose is cut dead square and is seated properly too.
-
cheers dave will try all the things tmoz

sorry got to agree with dave PTFE not needed with any hoselock fittings.....
don't buy cheap hoselock-type fittings make sure they are hoselock branded, or get rectus 26 - which is what i do,
if you do this but a pair of pinch pliars and a vast amount of "o" clips from e-bay seller circuit-hydraulics-LTD, great price and service.
infact thinking back to the early years! wish some one gave me this advice sooner!

this is what i have on my claber reel richy
brass swivel elbow screwed in tight with a wrench on side of hose reel.decent metal hoselock. a nice tight fit with no leaks.also check your pumps shutting off when you turn off your pole tap in good time so you dont get a build up of pressure.
rectus 26 fittings on my other reel.no leaks at all.

sound advice! this is also something to learn!
When fitting a swivel elbow on to your reel
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!!! DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!!! DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!!!
results in you having to order a new reel manifold, and disassemble and reassemble of reel! *painfully a boo boo of a job

When you PTFT always leave the first couple of male rings bare so you get a better fit
