Customer had new sandstone floor sealed with Cementone Natural Floor Sealer by her builders. The seal has not worked as the stone is still porous and has marked and soiled very easily.
Have tried a small test patch using STS but to no avail. Was thinking of trying wax/res next but would a honing powder assist in cutting through the seal to get back to the stone so that I can re-seal.
Any thoughts?

I will try and assist you but you will have to explain to me what the following abbreviations mean exactly:
A. STS?
B. Wax/Res?

Kevin, thanks for the offer of help.
STS is a high alk hard floor cleaner from Solutions. Have used it on other floors with success but not on this occasion.
Wax/res is a stripping solution from Stonecare
I know you have your own alkaline cleaner but I don't have any at present but do have these products

I am not saying our High Alkaline is any better than the stuff you have is but this is the normal process for cleaning that type of stone using our products.
1. Thoroughly Pre Wet the stone with water
2. Apply the HDT&G Cleaner diluted according to the sealer which in this case with ours would be 3:1 (Use your STS)
3. Allow to dwell for 15 minutes and then agitate with Mono Rotary fitted with SIC Brush
4. Add honing powder and agitate again
5. Extract with wet vac
6. Rinse thoroghly with clean water and extract again
7. Allow to thoroughly dry
8. Seal with Miracle 511 Porous Plus Sealer
Sometimes if the pre existing sealer is really stubborn (like Lithofin Slate Seal) then you need something like Miracle Mira Strip or similar as well to break down the sealer
Job done
