Title: Tank fittings

Hi all just fitting new 1 inch tank fittings on new 800 litre tank when fitting should I use some Pte tape any advice thanks andy

Only if you want it to be leak free  :D
I just put it on everything with a thread as a matter of course.
word of warning, sure i have read on suppliers sites before, don't over tighten  tank fittings.

dont forget reels and all thread connections,    a little drip could become a big problem if you dont notice it
i found from experience.
always carry some in van

A friend of mine whose a plumber used some ptfe stuff on some new fittings for my hot water... I'd never seen it before but it was like string. Prob just called ptfe string? He said nothing gets past it... So far it's been great..!!

Its probably hemp. The old stuff used back in the day. They used to call it Italian hemp. Looks like cycle  string.
