Can anyone help? was at Oxford last week having some repairs done and something was blowing the main fuse on my boxer 421, Roger diagnosed it as the pump so replaced it and ran the machine for about half hour with no problems, today I have cleaned a bedroom and half a lounge and the "pump fuse" blew I replaced it and it went almost straight away can anyone give me some advice as I have a few busy days ahead and need it sorted?

sorry have tm never had that prob, sure someone on here will give you right info

Replaced the entire pump????
It is far more likely an issue with the pump clutch. Check the wiring to and from it.

I would be inclined to check the wiring for chafes and shorts.

I have replaced the sureflow pump simon

So it's your pump in pump and not the main pump.
Could be a problem with the switch on the front of the machine, try swapping it with another one and see if that fixes it.

Bob,
Just looked at the front panel of the 421, you have an APO switch next to the pump in switch, swap them over and try it.

You could try john Gotts on the mobile,
In the past he has helped, or even got Martin to call with help.

Update.....I have discovered that its the 15 amp pump out power fuse that keeps blowing, if I put a new fuse in it will work for about 10 mins then the water pressure dies but the engine will still run

Bob,
You've got a wiring fault, or the switch in the front of the machine is knackered, simples.

Thank you for all your replies I think Roger has now fixed the problem turns out a few wires that were in the thicker plastic casing had been rubbing and some were a bit frayed. some re-wiring later all seem to be fine and no longer tripping any fuses, also put back original pump and seem fine fingers crossed. will be using it tomorrow properly, at least I didn't have to shell out on a new flo jet pump in the end
