so had a go at cleaning the van today.turn pump on,plugged pole in.nothing.then a minute later it started pumping water through the hose into the heater.
the heater just spewed out water from the bottom.some was getting through to the hose and coming out the brush end but only a trickle(this is with pump on full blast!).
do you think ive knackered the heater?i made sure i drained it of water and pressure on the 19th dec.ive not touched it since .
or could it be that 90m of hose could be frozen in parts causing the water to not get through so creating the leaking heater?
ive brought reel, hose and pumpbox inside which i should of done days ago but been at girlfriends for over a week.
i even had ice in the bottom of my pumpbox!hopefully itll be ok when fully defrosted! ;D
ive drained heater again and took hoses off the inlet and outlet connections.
i still have a bit of floating ice in my tank.ive only got about 50L in the bottom of it.
normally i would of been putting an oil filled radiator in overnight in freezing weather if i was working

I had the same happen on my l5 around 3 years ago take the sides off and look for leak. Mine was just above the inlet inside the heater I think I replaced a pipe that had burst easy repair

hi david i think ill wait until friday and try again when pumpbox/hose reel are fully defrosted.
the water was spewing out of the whole of the bottom of the heater like when you unscrew the drain screw at the end of the day without depressurizing the heater(turning pump off and opening the pole tap first).
i reckon the hose is part frozen so the water has nowhere to go but out of the bottom of the heater!fingers crossed! ;D

Its probably the pressure valve in the heater. Its a brass flat shaped disk above the inlet hose. Its the diafram/rubber inside the valve that goes if the hose is not flowing and the pumps water into the heater and the pressure builds up .The boiler will heat water but not defrost hoses.
