Title: yrs or no

can anyone advice me,is it legal for me to do windows on third story ?
i have read  the h&s things but am too thick to reach a positive conclusion.
any answers would be greatly appreciated

ps i mean using a triple extention ladder

as far as i am aware ,aslong as you adhere to there rules of working at heights you will be ok , unless another alterative is available to you ,obviously not .I maybe wrong and someone correct me if i am

The question you need to ask is, "Is there another way of doing it other than on ladders?"

Now it makes no difference, whether you have this other method or not, is there another way of doing it?

The answer is yes.

You now have two choices, Do you use the other method and invest or do you choose not to do the job?

yes your insurance should state up to but not ove three storey and no cradle work

but having done it B4 would you want too?

i'm no legal expert, but how i see it is

if there is a safer alternative then this is how it should be done

and there is a safer alternative WFP

at the end of the day it's your choice!

Now John.. dont use too many words  :)

In fact you are correct though. The regs state  "Working at height should be avoided wherever possible"  Kinda sums it all up really.

Ladders are not banned though.. when all other means have been ruled out. Even then a risk assesment and method statement should be done. Suitable securing and safety devices should also be used.

My insurance covers use up to.. err I think its 24ft. Wouldnt like to have to try and claim unless WFP use could DEFINATELY be ruled out though. Or scaffold.. or cherry picker etc.
