Dazmond rescheduling work means you haven't got it done .i do my work 4 and 8 weekly . And always pull work forward and catch it back up when needed .the main reason I believe 4/8 weekly is better than calendar month . . Resulting in all the 4 weeklys getting cleaned 13 times a year ,and the 8 weeklys 6 or 7 times a year . I believe you work calendar month ., so how do you leave it until January if it was due in December . Surely that is one calendar month clean missed for you . Not having a pop just curious how you manage that without losing money .  :) cheers barry .

it's called having a holiday. Time off is money loss and scheduals would inevitability change.
I'm per calender month and I'm  a month behind after a herniated disc , I'm not worried , customers will still be their in january

I now work this way from Dazmonds posts. Yes, your only giving 12 cleans a year but it gives 4 weeks where holidays/time off can be seen by looking at a yearly calendar.
It's still worked over 4 weeks (not 4 weekly) with the first Monday of the month being my start date.
Customers soon learn they are the fall due on the first Wednesday or whatever and saves me sending texts.
Round software copes with this system and it works for me.

I have plenty of holidays and days off without losing money .and I know the customers will still be there in January .but my point was if you are calendar month , surely that money is lost what you didn't get done in December .

big house to do this morning takes about 5 hours, then a few loose ends to tidy up on Monday .... finished to 2nd on windows  :)

last 5 years always worked in between Christmas and New Year but dragged all my work forward this year, some by 9 days so can get a proper rest  8)

you guys who can drag work forward this time of the year must be very short of work or simply don't want much work. Are you on benefits or something  ;D

it's not all about money. It's about work play balance and  enjoying your life .if u make 300 per day like dazmond you can afford to lose a few days

I'm 4 weekly/6weekly/8weekly/12weekly/26weekly. Nearly all my schedule done for Dec bar 35 jobs which some I've moved forward 2 weeks and some missed completely. Yes lost money but still 5 grand up on earnings from previous year.

There  comes a point where I've had enough of window cleaning and bad weather for one year.NOW IS THE TIME!!!

;D ;D .... had a full round until about 4 months ago and sold about 25% to 30% off as tbh wasn't enjoying the work day in day out window cleaning ... the free time has been more than filled with add on's ... last month discovered the joys of working with a much higher flow so now feels like got 50% round.

Plan for next year by March will be to have all windows done by middle of the month freeing up more time for add on's plus just bought a pressure which I did a little bit of last year .. so half month windows and half pressure washing ........... other advantage is come October I can take last 2 weeks off for a proper holiday which not had time to for last few years without loosing any window money ..... that's the plan anyways  :)

I work to a strict monthly schedule 11 months of the year. Starting on the 1st weekday of each month (never work the weekends).

In December we do the 1st week as normal, then go like the clappers to get all the other work completed before the 24th Dec. I finished my regular cleans on Thursday, did a couple of extras yesterday, a big one off to do Monday, some communals on tues and that's me done till the new year.

Merry Christmas to you all

Got about 50 to get through between the 2 of us on Monday/Tuesday, then only a few shops/stores to clean between Xmas and new year. Will be the first time in months that we have been fully upto date.

cleaned my last window yesterday at 3.30 pm till a week monday , got my feet up in the lake district now ... here for 7 days with missus and little un
Worked like mad the last 2 weeks and this week gone has been, i think -if not my best, then very close to my best earning week ever ... got drowned a few times though. Its worth it to be able to have some time chilling though , not had a week off since april.
Enjoy the break everyone , im going too.
